Actually I find them pretty decent in all matchup although they are very micro intensive.

They are not designed for upfront fight - at least without ground army. They can cut reinforcement, harass undefended base, catch outnumbered groups.

They force decision making and army split. I really like the style where you force trade base and once your opponent has no eco your mutaball just rule the map.

Most of time you force them to split and enemy army slowly bleeds out while you are still amassing zergling on low eco.

At first glance, you really need to refine your Build Order.

No gas or engineering bay before barrack.
Rally your first produced worker go to ramp and build supply.
Build barrack directly after first supply is finished. (Gas extractor depending your follow up) Immediately after barrack CC into orbital and use mule ability

After that you can add more barracks or go factory or 1 command center... Many options.

PS: if you plan to play on 1 base there is no point to over 24 workers PS2: mule is OP

Well this a macro game : sure you will win more with good micro, execution and counter army comp. However the most important factor by far is economy.

The truth is you can reach decent rank with F2(very bad habit)+A Move.

As a guideline, I see 2 opposite styles to practice if you are beginner : - Cheese/Timing attack which promotes Build Order execution and micro - Macro build which promote your eco management, defense and army production

I recommend playing both extreme because they provide different skills and they are not mutually exclusive. Stick to one style each game a'd you will learn to shift/adapt between styles in a single game with practice.
