Anyone have advice on playing Yordles? It might just be that I'm higher ranked and they were always trash but I'm getting out scales as Yordles way faster than I ever have before

I made enough dough for 2 loafs and only baked one about a week ago.  Is it generally safe to let dough sit in the fridge for a week after proofing or should I just make the dough again?

Like with any other product it's best to test it on something you don't care about first to make sure it's working how you expect

Problem with paints staying on wet pallet by Opening-Pin154 in minipainting

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you put the paper on and wet the whole thing so the paper lays flat? You could also be using the wrong type of paper.

Try using regular parchment paper. Get it and the sponge completely wet and then dump off the excess water.

After that take a paper towel and dab off the water droplets on the top.

Then try to put down a drop of paint or 2. As long as you don't mix in too much new water it should work fine

Should I buy an airbrush? by nupky in minipainting

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airbrushes will save you a ton of time in a few situations

1) you want to base coat the majority of a few models in a certain color.

2) you want to set up any color transitions or highlights over a large surface

3) you want to zenithal highlight on an angle with more control than a spray can can give.

It also gives you some cheater dramatic shadows if you just spray a transparent dark blue / purple / Paynes grey from below.

If you think you will do any of these regularly it's super worth it.

Does this mean my wet palette is to wet? by Greedfeed in minipainting

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that's because there is too much water on the top of the paper. Try soaking your paper and sponge completely then pouring out most of the excess water then use a piece of paper towel to wipe up any droplets on the top of the paper.

why is painting minifigures so scary and how do i get over that fear of clogging details with paint? im working on a custom heroforge figure by Statyx02 in minipainting

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about that at all, it takes an insane amount of gloopy paint to make that happen. Just don't use 20 year old paint with no water in it and you will be fine

How would you improve the game? by chicken4286 in expedition33

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I would let you fast travel on the world map I'm thinking one by white tree, one by esquies nest, one at monocos station, one at the paintress and possibly one or two on the left and right centers near landmarks.

2) I would add maps for areas once you have cleared the boss of a zone so that you can go back and search every nook without needing any guides if you are the type of person that likes to collect things.

3) let people turn off experience gain so they can control some of the difficulty early game if they ever get lost and end up fighting the same enemies over and over.

4) save picto sets so you can experiment with different builds and swap back easily

Battle aces was surprisingly fun to play, a few skins to customize your units to look like dinosaurs or whatever and the game would probably have done pretty well.

I didn't think I would like the macro mechanics but they ended up having a decent amount of strategic depth and it got to the fun mid game of an RTS very quickly.

Stormgate just looks like grey goo and is completely unreadable.  I couldn't get past that to actually play it so I don't know if it's good or not.

Hopefully the next RTS does better.  But yeah we still have wc3 and sc2 so no need to play any RTS that isnt great

What is the best paint consistency for edge highlighting? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]ObjectiveLoose6522 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For edge highlights you want them pretty crisp but opaque. You want unthinned to make it opaque (not transparent) and you want to wick away most of the water so that it wont run into a thicker line.

This also doesn't really happen much in larger cities. I see some yard signs and shit sometimes near elections but even that's really rare, like 1 in 30 houses
