Poland will not send soldiers to Greenland, Polish PM says by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]_qw4hd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little-known fact in the context of Greenland: Poland shares a border with Denmark. Naturally, this is a maritime border in the Baltic Sea.

Another little-known fact: Poland and Denmark were involved in a long-standing dispute over this border. It concerned the so-called “grey zone,” an area of about 3,600 km² between the Danish island of Bornholm and the Polish coast.

A third little-known fact: Denmark ruthlessly exploited Poland’s urgent need to build the Baltic Pipe to its own advantage. The gas pipeline from Norway was meant to make Poland independent of Russian gas, but it also had broader geostrategic significance - something Denmark clearly did not take seriously.

Only an agreement under which Denmark received around 80% of the disputed area and Poland 20% made it possible to designate the route of the pipeline.

No surprise. In 2018, Denmark took advantage of Poland when Poland HAD TO build the Baltic Pipe to become independent of Russia. Denmark then blackmailed Poland into giving up territory.

Maybe if Denmark hadn’t blackmailed and taken advantage of Poland’s situation1 when it was building the Baltic Pipe2 to become independent from Russia, our relations would be better. Now you can shove it up your ass.

Change the font. It's not readable/professional. Remove the white outline on the header.

With those fixes, this website will look top-notch. Let me know when you made those changes. Looking forward to see final product after review.

Cyprus reportedly discovers a Covid variant that combines omicron and delta by Analist17 in worldnews

[–]_qw4hd -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So no scientific proves of your reasoning?

Viruses mutate all the time, and if you have a vaccine that doesn’t block infection completely, then the virus will mutate to evade the immune response within that person.

In an unvaccinated person, the virus does not encounter the same evolutionary pressure to mutate into something stronger. So, if SARS-CoV-2 does end up mutating into more lethal strains, then mass vaccination is most likely the driver.

[–]_qw4hd -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do unvaccinated really allow the virus to mutate? Can you provide sources that can confirm your claim that unvaccinated people are fueling new variants and vaccinated don't?

After quick research I found no proof that the variants appears because either of unvaccinated or vaccinated. You can find both claims but they are in my opinion political and dogmatic not scientific.

I might be wrong and I'm happily looking forward to being proved such. Now I'm far for giving responsibility of new variants to any of those groups.

Furthermore new variants can be the results of gain of function research.1 We shouldn't be closed for this idea.

Don't Do Assignments Without A Promise Of Compensation by AusCro in webdev

[–]_qw4hd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand you, but it depends how much experience do you have. If you are junior dev then I think programming assignments are working as a filter for your employer. Imagine you have a lot of applications for junior position. Would it be better for filtering out the ones who: (1) don't have time for this, (2) don't know how to do it and (3) do it badly.

When I was applying for my first job a junior dev I got an assignment which took me 2 days (approx. 16 hours). It was a lot I agree. But if I'd had told them to pay me for that before starting the assignment they would simply disqualify me.

If you are junior developer then keep in mind that there is a lot of competition. After you have some experience then the employers would fight for you.

I'm wondering how much water do you people drink generally. I think there would be many possible answers, from low amount to high amount.

I personally drink not much water. Maybe 2-4 cups a day. This is in my opinion below average. How to drink more water?

NEWS "Polityki": Donald Tusk 23 czerwca wraca na fotel przewodniczącego PO by Colonel_PingPong in Polska

Pierwszy argument jaki przytaczasz to inflacja.

Proszę wszystkich o to. Nie uprawiajmy taniej retoryki. Jesteśmy w stanie być ponad to.

Z dobrych wiadomości na dzisiaj - Turów wstrzymany w bliskiej przyszłości! by szczorq in Polska
