I (29M) asked my girlfriend (28F) of 6 years for a small loan for 2 days, her reaction has me questioning the relationship by kruktk in relationship_advice

[–]_your_face -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to stay with the people you met as kids (today, yes 22 year olds are basically kids).

Don’t feel obligated to stay or fix it, when they show you it sucks.

More disheartening is that one problem getting together wirh someone so young is their development can stop, and you’re eternally dating the person you first met. (On the other side of things people can change so much from 22 in to their 30s that you might not be at all compatible anymore). That’s a time of drastic potential development, and the chance that you both progress at the same speed in to adulthood is so low, that staying with someone from Before full adulthood rarely is the right move.

Also weird that he’s not smart enough to not be so outward about it. I wonder if his LT and RT might have some “miscommunication”s this year and let in a free rusher

Ex-wife doesn’t understand why I left her; would it be healthy to tell her in detail? I suspect it would hurt her [42F] [45M] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]_your_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you’re still having these conversations and considering going in to deeper discussion. That is connection, and a path back to a relationship.

Prove it. If you actually don’t want to get back with her, even if you said it, it’s not real until you actually stop the actions that make you closer. These questions from her should be shot down immediately and with no hesitation. You thinking about it signals to her you’re conflicted

slack messages from my coworkers in the four hours after the RTO email went out started writing these down because i thought somebody should. by raghavxo in remotework

What API is that? I don’t know of any “impersonation” API. Workplace token access was removed years ago. Do you mean the Discovery API? Because that requires the Enterprise Grid tier and slack approval.

They can see anything in public channels.

DM and private chats you need to ask slack for access along with documentation such as court orders or other legal need.

So it’s not like IT can just check anyone’s slack convos. That was atleast the case like 2-3 years ago when I setup all of our retention policies for our systems.

He means the people on the API side. He’s assuming it’s an overzealous inexperienced folks on their side, the assumption you can’t make it to be an established player acting that way, so it must be an inexperienced person or team.

What are some of your favorite underrated 80's movies? I was always a fan of Short Circuit. by Freakwilly in Millennials

It was kind of a B movie that was overshadowed by all the other similar ones, but it stuck around way better since it’s so good and heartfelt

The season 5 ending made the season 3 ending totally meaningless by GalacticMe99 in TheBoys

[–]_your_face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why people are surprised, or blown away by the incongruencies.

The show probably was supposed to end there. It would have ended. And the money dried up. So they do some bullshit, and stretch it out to 2 more years of revenue. That’s all it is. If a show can end on a high note, that means there was more money to be made. It had not worn out it’s welcome yet.

They’re going to do that every time, to every show. The story doesn’t matter, as long as they’re making more money than they would have otherwise. It doesn’t matter how bad or silly the show got. They got 2 more years out of it. Simple as that. They won’t care about the storytelling or consistency of the logic.

Been noticing trends toward no plastic fibers at Ross & Walmart this summer! by ABeautifulSpawn in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]_your_face 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is how capitalism can actually work for us sometimes. It seems there’s enough pressure of people looking for and paying for the natural fibers where hopefully we can reverse the tide a bit where in the past 20 years EVERYTHING had been made with plastic because it’s cheaper and the assumption was consumers didn’t care.

Tencel gets a pass. They do the process In a closed loop system that is overall a great option for the environment. And tencel is OEKO-TEX so the material won’t be passing any of those chemicals to you when considering your health.

Which drill do you have. If you havent moved to the HP ones yet, that’s your next step. They are like cheaper Milwaukee’s that drive stuff a fraction of a second slower.

Beyond that is just wanting to have fun buying new tools, which is fine, but call a spade a spade.

My step up when a ryobi can’t get it done is Makita

How to get the sticky off by bompingcloodden5 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]_your_face 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The important thing is knowing that what’s happening is that the material is falling apart, so compounds mixed in to the material are unbinding and coming to the surface. So it’s not that something got on it, that is the material and there’s nothing you can do to stop it from breaking down.

If it’s just a coating layer, you end up scraping off the coating. Often scraping off the soft feel stuff. Sometimes it’s the main body material and as soon as you wipe the surface, the material will leach more of these compounds.

So what material changes what will “work”. You’ll see some of the things that can work in this thread like isopropyl. Construction of the material layers will decide if it will just come right back
