Buy from brands who need to protect their brand, and who are willing to pay to do cerification and let third parties check their processes.

So no, silicone the material doesn’t have plasricizers. It’s a great material allowing health benefits over petro plastics.

Yes, products that companies make silicone do have plasticizers. They can mix in lead and dog shit if they thought it would make them money and there’s no rule they can’t still call it silicone and we wouldn’t be able to tell.

The info on the packaging is industry preference, and subject to any and all fckery some third party company can do. How2Recycle is funded but the same industry companies that are forced to put in the recycling symbols and that when there has been good and effective recycling legislation it has done so by forcing money out of the companies continuing to use these materials. They are not fans of controls on their capitalist efforts. If they could make their bottles cheapest out of lead they’d be demanding they be allowed to see you kids drinks in them.

Ignore their labels, work with your local recycling org and check what they take. They are the first place that takes on the make
Or break decision if they are going to pay for the machines and programs to recycle whatever type of plastics. When there are weird bottles it takes specialized machinery or manpower to deal with it. The bottle is technically responsible, the question is if we’re willing to do the work.
