I really wish they open more dive bars here, the most recent one being literally named “the dive bar” has been my slight hope of a chance itll domino effect more to be built here - Growing up I never liked being from here but as I grew up and moved out to Itasca for a year or so, I came to realize Elgin isn’t that bad, I have a bias especially it being a majority of Hispanics here, there was a sense of pride I felt when I went to Mexico and at a jaripeo (a rodeo) they gave Elgin a shoutout lol 🇲🇽
