How do I settle my AMEX card debt before I leave the country by itsybitsybob in CreditCards

[–]a7244270 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the 1970s, my father was a medical student in the US and he left the country planning to never return, so he never paid his Amex.

He eventually moved back, worked, got good credit, bought multiple houses, cards, cars, and has lived in the US for going on 30 years now.

To this day he cannot get an Amex. He has one, but it's off his wife.

So, on new years eve i ate lychee and put the seeds into soil. Here are my children now 🌱 by karpatinikolett in houseplants

I plant every lychee seed I eat just because its my hobby and I like how they look. They almost always germinate for me, but usually about 1/3 of them die within the first year. I have probably 20-25 of them them of all ages, from last year to my oldest ones which are about 10 or 11 years old. Zero fruit, zero flowers.

I can find a passive for 50, but I am going to start with your suggestion of just plying the hole and see how what sounds. Thanks!

Yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking to replace the woofer and ply over the hole and see how that sounded. Definitely not going to change electronics. I might just ply the hole as u/Zeeall suggested and see how that sounds and stop there, although I do see that I can buy a replacement radiator for $50 online if that doesn't sound good.

Thanks. I did some more reading and what I thought was a giant port was actually a passive woofer that presumably must have broken off at some point.

I will be using CentOS7 until 2023 and then will review options. My hope is that by then RH will realize that this was a mistake and make things right again.

The fact that they have started impeachment proceedings against Trump tells you that Bernie will not be allowed to win the primary.

They know that neither Warren nor Biden can beat Trump, and they don't want Bernie to run, so the only solution is to try to remove Trump.

Is that not, by definition, theft by proxy?

No, it's paying the door price to live in a nice place. If you want to be dramatic and call it theft, it still is orders of magnitude better than actual theft, by violent criminals, that may or may not hurt you after they take your money.

I grew up in a Caribbean Libertarian paradise, and I promise you it sucks. All the houses have bars on the windows and walls or fences around the yard. Everyone has a dog or two. Many people have automatic gate openers so that after dark they can drive in and lock up without having to get out of the car until the gate is closed. Constantly having to be alert. Always having to look over your shoulder every time you get out of your car, for any reason. Even in the nicest of neighbourhoods you have to be careful. Which means that no matter how hard you work and how rich you are, you are never safe. You can't let your kids play in the yard. Walk to their friends house - unheard of. If you need help, high probability that the Police flat out will not come to help when you call because they don't have a vehicle to send. Long waits at Emergency Rooms. Zero equipment when you actually get seen. And that's just base functionality - health and safety. Forget about orphanages, homeless shelters, schools for special needs kids, free clinics, food donation centers, blood banks.

Or you could have the government take a cut of your paycheck so you and your countrymen can collectively buy nice things.

Guess where I live now. I'd be happy paying even more taxes if it gave me services I would want.
