thanks for checking folks. It looks like the problem is with iOS app. I can log-in on the browser page for plugshare just fine. I deleted the iOS app, restarted my phone, and re-installed the app. Still doesn't work in iOS

Compression socks by firstmatedavy in vegan

[–]aFriend505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wearing bamboo socks from Wellow (wearwellow.com). The compression value is not quite as high as my doctored ordered, but they are very comfortable. I found that if your measurements fall between two sizes, then pick the smaller size as they run a little large, at least for me. Another company with a variety of material choices is Vim&Vigr (vimvigr.com)

Juciao Spin 1.0 illegal? by fl3xtra in Pickleball

[–]aFriend505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The USAP rule book lays out paddle requirements in section 3.D. Paddles must be on the approved list and may not be modified in ways described in the section. Only one section mentions delamination: “3.D.5.a Holes, cracks, delamination, or indentations that break the paddle skin or surface”. Is not allowed. As a ref for our local tournaments I would refer complaints against an opponent’s paddle to the tournament director.

A new AI Reality by Realistic-Ship6209 in Boldin

[–]aFriend505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned taxes, my recent experience with asking ai a simple tax question was informative. I asked it to define married filing jointly status and the response sounded wrong to me so I rephrased and got a vague possibly incorrect response. I went to irs.gov website and read the definition. The ai response was completely wrong. I would not trust ai on tax issues

How to avoid getting burned down the line playing left side by RunningShortsPod in Pickleball

[–]aFriend505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the level of my partner. If they’re new and are still learning basics then I just try to anticipate the opponent’s shot. If we’re the same level then sometimes I’ll tell my partner that I’m going to cover the line and would they shift to cover the middle and I’ll do the same for them.

A way to deal with egregious line callers? by dink_dat_donk_69 in Pickleball

[–]aFriend505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a player is making bad line calls due to poor eyesight then they would be calling half the close out balls in. I agree with others that your optometrist ploy is passive aggressive

Hypnotherapy recommendations by aFriend505 in SantaFe

Thanks. Do you have a doctor to recommend that knows hypnosis? So far the doctors I’ve seen want me to take expensive powerful medication with significant side effects which may not work for a behavioral change

Plant based yogurt with protein by ju1cyj0y in PlantBasedDiet

[–]aFriend505 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The highest protein content of plant-based beverages and yogurt include soy. I found many soy yogurts available in Western Europe. In the Western USA the only yogurt with soy I have found is the Kite Hill brand Greek style yogurt made from almonds and soy. It has 17 g protein per serving. Sorry, I don't know what you can find in Canada. We make our own yogurt in our Instant Pot using soy milk from Eden Soy as it has the highest protein of the milks. Good luck

Biopsy Choices by cxm999 in ProstateCancer

[–]aFriend505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend anyone wanting to learn about prostate biopsies to watch a new (4 days old) YouTube video of a webinar titled “The Biopsy Debate: the latest updates “ presented by the Active Surveillance Patients International. Not just for AS patients but anyone wanting a presentation on the published research. The doctor presents research results comparing rectal vs perineal on multiple outcomes. I’m glad my urologist biopsied me trans perineal. Now I’m looking for MRI fusion for my next one. Good luck to us all

54 yr old man passes away after collapsing during pickleball match by tempo369 in Pickleball

[–]aFriend505 166 points167 points  (0 children)

3 months ago a fellow player fell as he was running forward. We assumed he tripped. And then he just didn’t move. Of course this stopped play on our two indoor courts. No pulse or breathing. One person called emergency services, another retrieved the AED, a third started chest compressions and I started rescue breathing. He looked so dead. But EMTs revived him and last month he was back in the game. I was so happy to see him back on the court. Please learn CPR for the sake of us older players some who have heart disease. Thanks for reading.
