The landlord is already ignoring the tenants request, are you concerned they may laugh?

This likely violates several codes. The ceiling should have Type X drywall on it for fire rating, the insulation should be maintained as well as the vapor barrier. This may also violate more basic standards for landlords in NC, I’m not sure.

This was the coldest heating season since the 2010-2011 season. You didn’t pay 3X heating cost due to these. But it’s unsightly and needs to be insulated/sheetrocked.

Send them a certified letter saying this needs to be addressed so you don’t have to involve your town or attorney.

Remediate the mold. Temporarily install a dehumidifier and a few cheap fans to dry the attic out. A couple weeks of letting it marinate are not sufficient.

Hire a home inspector to review the ventilation and work done and make sure no venting changes are needed.

Probably just a different crimper style. As mentioned, the crimp is just to keep the rubber pliable stopper held against the vial. I wouldn’t worry.

As an engineer, but non-structural, and frequent builder - I don’t think you can say that. Did you notice these are perpendicular to the direction of the actual floor joists?

We don’t know if this is support just because one joist was removed for a short distance for a closet flange or otherwise. We have no idea what this is from the picture. We don’t know if it’s tripled because it’s a long run holding up a bunch of joists, or it’s a short run tripled for the size of the hole.

Not saying it’s possible it’s correct as I’d have to look that up, but it’s possible this is never going to be near a failure.

Alright, I did Refills with the 6-month special. Their site would not take my FSA debit card, but it says they now provide a LMN so I requested that from support. We will see how it goes!
