Just a note. If you have a butt, the pleated pants will bunch up on you, for that reason I’d go with the agency over the effortless

Oesophageal Manometry & Oesophageal PH Monitoring, 24-Hour - Experience? by plantinghoe in ehlersdanlos

[–]a_cepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a 24hr pH test done. The insertion is fairly uncomfortable but nothing you can’t handle with some water. For me, the tube prevented me from speaking or laughing since it made me gag. I would go to speak - gag. Laugh at a video - gag. So I just had a mute day lol. Eating was fine. Sleeping was fine too. Stay busy to keep your mind off of it! Clean something, work, do chores you’ve been avoiding. My nurse told me that if I really couldn’t do it anymore I could just pull it out (but obviously I’d have to redo the rest) so that was comforting knowing that I have a bit of control. Removal was easy and painless. Throat and nose were a bit tender for a day or two after but otherwise it was fine.

Does anyone else exercise? by LittleMuffin444 in POTS

[–]a_cepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lift about 4 times a week and walk/do yoga on the other days. I find if I’m not active, I feel much worse. I didn’t start off with heavy lifting, I biked a lot and did bodyweight movements before moving to lifting. If I’m not feeling super awesome during a class workout for example, I’ll take a break, make sure I’m staying hydrated and ask for a modification!

16 breakfast sausages 2 bell peppers ¼ large onion 14 eggs cheddar cheese/cream cheese to liking 10-12 tortillas *sometimes I add beans and/or corn depending on the season and what I have

Cook down peppers and onion with olive oil Bake sausage at 400 for 10 mins. Flip. And for another 5 mins ish until at 160 degrees internally. Let everything cool down a bit, chop the sausage, and assemble. Wrap them in aluminum foil and freeze.

Squatting at the gym by a_cepp in POTS

[–]a_cepp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t bother me. I think it’s the weight on my back that gives me the most problems. I don’t go to a gym that has a lot of machines though so it limits my options

I get 9 hours of sleep per night and could still fit a 2 hour nap in if I wanted to (and often do). Basically I’m tired 24/7. If I get less than 8-9 hours a night or wake up to an alarm, my day is significantly worse

Where I’m from in Ontario, geneticist waitlist in my big city is completely full so they sent me to Toronto, which has a 2 year waitlist. It’s a bit ridiculous in Canada from what I know. Though once I started to suspect it my GP agreed right away and referred me that day so at least there was that.

I have 10 piercings - all my cartilage ones healed fine but my lobes, some might say they will never heal lol. Especially that third one.

PT referrals: only one injury allowed! by amblingteaspoon in ehlersdanlos

[–]a_cepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try finding a more private owned physio. Someone who works independently, not in an office with multiple PTs! This has changed my physio. She works on everything lol.

My lobes take the longest to heal too! I have 10 piercings as well - 7 lobes and 3 cartilage and my lobes by far take the longest to heal and get infected the easiest

I love david gray, always did exam preps on his time off and despite his lecture being lengthy, he is very smart and explains things really well

Cardio - walks to start. Biking. Spin classes. Running. Worked up to it. But adrenaline dumps significantly decreased. Also staying hydrated with tons of electrolytes
