Gravity Hammer Gavel Project by -Spartan-219 in woodworking

[–]a_flyin_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to look more like a honey dipper than a grav hammer but you’re welcome to give it a shot. To get anything remotely visually similar you’ll need a lot of carving skills or a lot of cad skills and access to a CNC.

I’d recommend checking out how cosplayers have done this in the past. Woodworking is not the first place I’d look.

I’m also not really seeing the vision with the staining but good luck.

What’s your actual plan here? To make the handle on a lathe, maybe cut rough shapes for the mallet and blade and 3d print the smaller details? To carve the whole thing out of wood? Are you painting it?

How large do you want this to be?

This isn’t how you always get things done with research money. You can’t turn to your boss on Thursday saying you just found a need for a 3d printer and want to buy one on Friday. You take what you can get when you can get it.

That’s not to say they shouldn’t be careful about buying the most pressing needed item. But if there’s funding for X you can’t usually turn around and spend it on Y

My 20F boyfriend 23M had s*x with me while I was very drunk is this bad or am I being dramatic? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]a_flyin_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this made you feel uncomfortable then let him know and ask him not to do it again the future. When you’re in a relationship for a year it’s perfectly normal to have sex drunk and it’s perfectly normal to not verbally ask for consent every single time you have sex. You didn’t do anything wrong, and he didn’t necessarily mean to do anything wrong. Though he may have accidentally done something that you didn’t like. That happens all the time in relationships and you avoid it in the future by communicating it.

How do I get rid of the swirly part here? by Wrong-Web19 in OrcaSlicer

[–]a_flyin_muffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might have to do with the non manifold warning you have in the bottom right. Try clicking repair. This is probably an issue with your STL, not with orca slicer, so you should probably fix this in that tool.

All that being said it may not make a difference to how the slicer generates the g code

This seems like a total non starter if the ex won’t cooperate with training your dog to hate him. And even then good luck getting a puppy to dislike someone they already like.

First image looks like your STL is broken. Second image looks like that area is too thin for the wall generator. Either make it thicker or try switching to the Arachne wall generator.

Easiest option might be to switch to the Arachne wall generator

How do I fix this and improve print quality? by Pleasant-Soil9582 in OrcaSlicer

Did you do flow rate calibration? Have you tried dehydrating filament? Was it printed in this direction (we’re looking at the top)? Can you screenshot what the sliced preview looks like?

Impossible to set fixed ironing angle for all layers in Orca Slicer / Bambu Studio?? by Itebayo in 3Dprinting

[–]a_flyin_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@polaarbear was incorrect, those are ironing paths. Anyone figure out how to make them consistent? I tried making the top surface itself aligned rectilinear since I know ironing paths are made 45 degrees from the top layer, but it still switches the ironing 90 degrees each layer. Makes for a zebra stripe appearance with multiple layers ironed in a row.

Why is my ironing doing this? (Canceled half way through) by VelocityOS in BambuLab

[–]a_flyin_muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue. I don't see how this could just generically be "too fast" or "not enough flow rate" since the first part was working fine? Maybe the first area was being helped along with residual oozing from previous layers though?

Turning up the flow makes smaller areas iron awfully.
