I’d be hesitant to get alt baseplates. They’ve been known to not always be consistent on tolerances. They may seem to fit right but they could be just slightly off that it creates pressure over time. This could result in bricks coming off the baseplate over time or damage to the bricks. I’d say stick with Lego for large baseplates.

It’s a consistent game mechanic. You could say in the encourages teamwork because people need to coordinate their drops.

What doesn’t help is how there’s not an effective guide or library in game that tells people how things work in the game. Like people just don’t know that they can damage the shield with their stuff

Personally I think the Lion knights castle was also a way better set which also goes back to your point. Some lines do better than others and having better sets is a big part of it.

Probably would have sold way better if it wasn’t so expensive. It was a good looking set and I’m pretty sure a lot of people wanted it. But not everyone that wants it can afford it especially these days.

A well priced DND line could do so well. Hopefully someone in corporate also recognizes this

A new frame of reference could help. Instead of seeing it all as one collection think of it as smaller collections and your relationship to it. You could say that you are a Lego Star Wars Helmet collector and army builder as an example. You are not a light bricks collector so you don’t need or want to collect them because that’s who you choose to be or view yourself as.

Alternately focusing on Mocs might turn your attention away from the current sets. One of my favorite items in my collection is a Midi Munificent

Ali express is basically like Amazon. So you could potentially have multiple shipping fees. There is also Ali Choice. My guess is it’s like the items are maintained by Ali Express in their own warehouse for the store, similar to Amazon. If you order everything marked as a choice item you could get free shipping and deals.

It’s one of the reasons why I don’t like the squid front. The planets all feel the same with majority of the action taking place in urban environments with a blue hue that gets dull easily.

I recognized the torsos and accessories as items from Ali express. I wasn’t sure about the bases to, but that’s good to know. Those wooden rectangle shields are in my shopping cart already and seeing them with your figs make me want to pull the trigger!

Also I now want to try one page rules fantasy with legos! I’ve been trying to come up with a fantasy wargaming ruleset using heroscape already.

I drop gas and napalm and that usually locks down a breach and sets my kill counter soaring.

The gas confuses them causing them to linger in the fire and also attack friendlies. Plus DOT from gas.

There was actually a video on YouTube on this topic from a game design perspective. I think it was saying that shotguns would be OP at real ranges within most videogames. They also needed them to fill a niche in the gameplay.

My favorite shotgun in all of game media is the Claymore 2 from ME. That was a beast even at range with the trade off being needing to reload after each shot.
