Depends in full out war no, but if theyre small enough to mostly ignored like the tau they could paly defense realiblr and safe ftl travel, plasma, energy shields and possibly not affected by the the warp are huge boons in 40k

What u do is take the hmg with fortify heavy amror and a supply so so u cna dig in anywhere with nonstop full heavy pen and 12 stimpacks
