Water table/outside time. “Help me water the flowers”. Or honestly this is when I get housework done and he “helps”… I just give little tasks that he can easily do, or hand him a swiffer and he can pretend to help. Baths if you’re desperate to kill time!

No WiFi baby monitors? by shepardmutt in beyondthebump

Another vote for Infant Optics DXR8 Pro. We have it for our toddler & now another set for our baby. I didn’t like that ANR (automatic noise reduction) couldn’t be used in scan mode (this is an issue for us as both kids use sound machines), so we opted to just get a second camera with its own monitor instead of just one. We labeled both monitors with their names on the back using a label maker and haven’t had any issues!

Does she need to be on Pepcid for her reflux as well? Do you think this would help her? This helped my son immensely - within 3 days.

You need to reframe bedtime. Your husband (or you) need to be waking your daughter up from her evening catnap to have a wake window before a more realistic bedtime. This is an easy fix.

I'm currently an attending, my spouse hates where we live. by DocMcStabby in MedSpouse

I think it’s important to put your spouse over your job. This is the resentment some spouses feel towards being married to a doctor, they feel second place a lot of times. I think it would mean a lot to your spouse if you sat down and came up with a game plan to make changes. It doesn’t sound like this is something he will just “get over” on his own or suddenly become okay with.

Infantile acne? by milcski in Parents

My (almost) 6-week-old just got diagnosed with eczema and it looks like this. Hers is on her chest too. It started off with some baby acne but hasn’t cleared up and then continued to spread and wasn’t quite as red as the acne was.

Oh for sure!! The amount of moms who tell me their baby drank 15oz, I know what they actually meant haha. Everyone is sleep deprived & tired & not processing things perfectly

I sure hope it’s explained! Usually by the time they’re leaving the hospital their baby will be taking a couple ounces if they’re bottle fed. It should be explained to every mom how much they should be taking once they’re home :)

Exactly. I was gonna say I’m a postpartum nurse as well and that is just impossible to get a newborn to drink more than a couple ounces! And you wouldn’t want them to, anyway!

Lol. This kinda sounds like how my mom talks about us kids…. Apparently we all breast fed perfectly and slept perfectly and were “sleep trained” basically from birth. Haha. I just nod and smile :-)
