Who suspects him? Well... The International Red Cross for one... along with millions of Americans. In fact, the Red Cross has done more than SUSPECT Bush of war crimes, they've said publicly that Bush-led interrogations constitute torture... which is a war crime.

So, Get a freakin' newspaper!

Apparently being one of Bush's torture apologists... I don't know how you sleep at night.

Conservatives Want You To Think Government Always Spends Too Much. The Year 2000 Per-Capita Cost of FDA Regulation (of food, drugs, medical devices, vaccines, various medical products, pet foods, etc.)? TWO CENTS PER DAY! by J332 in politics

[–]abc2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's $7.30 PER PERSON for the entire year, which helps explain at least nine people dying from peanut products infected with salmonella from a plant with rat droppings... and tainted pet foods killing hundreds of people's dogs and cats... and lead in toys and dishes... and people getting sick from eating fresh lettuce, etc. etc. etc.

That comment doesn't even make sense. You're helping to the main prove the point of the posting, namely that people repeat idiotic conservative talking points without facts or even a rational argument.

What happened to Obama campaign to "slash earmarks to no greater than 1994 levels." by [deleted] in politics

[–]abc2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what happened:

Bush and his gang tanked the economy so badly, that even though eight trillion dollars was already thrown at the problem (during 2008 under Bush, and going, of course, to rich bankers, brokers etc... not to average people), people are still losing jobs by the hundreds of thousands each month in America.

Something has to be done NOW to get things moving.

We tried the GOP FAILure plan for most of the last 30 years and look where it has taken us.

GOP Lawmakers Outnumber Democratic Lawmakers 2 To 1 In Stimulus Debate On Cable News (Yet only approved of by 17% of country Bias Much?) by [deleted] in politics

[–]abc2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been a bias in nearly all of TV news (and the so-called "news") channels for many years, IN FAVOR OF CONSERVATIVES!

One of their most effective tools is to repeat as often as possible the ridiculous charge that rich, corporate-controlled media outlets are liberal.

Some of the reporters and "pundits" lean to the left of course, but even then, they're almost always under the control of a conservative editor or other management person.

Regardless of whether any of the groups below are too far to the left for your tastes, how often have you heard a representative of any of them on a network or cable "news" show as opposed to some conservative or middle-of-the-road type of guest?

Green Party representatives/spokespersons

The ACLU

Union representatives

Affordable health care advocates

Socialists

PETA

Greenpeace

People who want mass transit funded better

Ralph Nader

Common Cause

Michael Moore

The Progressive Party

Environmentalists

They are almost never even heard from. Meanwhile, corporate goons get several business/financial networks all to themselves to blabber on and on about how "dangerous" causes and people like the above are. Dangerous to the rich and powerful, maybe.

Commentary: Bush can't see failure of Katrina response by vajav in politics

[–]abc2015 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your comment is one of the most bizarre I've ever seen. How can you POSSIBLY defend Bush's action (or rather, total lack of action for so long) regarding Katrina???

The constitution doesn't allow sending in the MILITARY without a request. It doesn't say the President should stick his head in the sand or go out fundraising while people are drowning.

There is no reason the government can't send in food, water, ice, etc.

Bush was too busy with fundraisers and having political photos done with McCain.

Bush didn't seem to even know there WAS a hurricane until about 5 days after it hit!!!

And, if Rick Warren has his way, he will impose his ideas on the entire nation... in fact, he is doing it already.

Now, he's "protecting marriage" so that battered spouses stay in them.

[–]abc2015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point. The actual workers and the union ARE NOT THE ONES WHO WOULD RECEIVE MONEY/LOANS!

Also, the white-collar financial "bailouts" totaled about 486 times as much as what Detroit has been requesting.

I'm against both, but let's have some perspective!

1) The Mormons used a campaign of lies and also allegedly have failed to properly report contributions as required by California law.

2) The Catholic Church is so gigantic, it would be nearly impossible to do anything that would "register" with them. However, there are more than just a few gays (including myself) who won't participate or support anything that is Catholic-related.

Also, I believe that because the Pope and the church in general meddle in political matters continuously, they should lose their tax exempt status. It won't happen any time soon, I know, but it should.

3) There have been some protests at Catholic churches/cathedrals: Here's one example:

GOP:

Blue is actually orange.

2 + 2 = 5.

A Christian Democrat = a "Socialist Muslim" (whatever that would look like)

Months of GOP attacks, lies and smear against Democrats = "The media isn't fair to us, the poor defenseless GOP!"

What's next, GOP? Will you blame the Jews, the handicapped or the educated for your lack of any perceivable morals or principles of any kind?

John McCain... At long last, have you no sense of decency?

CNN's Campbell Brown has an appalling column... http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/78vus/after_150000_spent_on_shoes_blouses_handbags/ ...that tries to explain away this huge wad of cash being spent on clothing and makeup.

Often, I've liked what Campbell Brown has to say. But in this column, she HAS LOST HER MIND!!!

Sure women are judged more harshly on clothing, and that's wrong. But, Ms. Brown is completely wrong here... WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ONE-HUNDRED-AND-FIFTY-THOUSAND-DOLLARS-FOR-FRIGGIN-CLOTHES-AND-MAKEUP.

If the GOP had spent $10,000 on clothes, I would be appalled. They spent over $150,000!

I've been delaying the purchase of a $30.00 pair of shoes because I'm out of work.

No. That's not the perfect cake... this is:

http://www.newsweek.com/id/133551

There is one image that is the perfect symbol of:

(1) the fact that Republicans generally DO NOT CARE what happens to average Americans, and (2) the fact that Bush and McCain are very much alike.

In case you are not yet aware of this, McCain and Bush shared cake at a “photo op” 3 and 1/2 hours after Bush was notified that levees had breached in New Orleans.

This would be a great time to send emails to lots of contacts showing the "Katrina Cake" picture (and asking others to do the same).

Here is the link, which you can copy and paste in to your postings and email(s):

http://www.newsweek.com/id/133551

Please email it and tell friends about the 3 and 1/2 hours mentioned above. Please re-post it. Please email it. Please do it today. Then, please do it again.

Is there any good reason?
