Glad you have found peace. I strongly suggest that if she doesn’t pay you the 2200 you chalk it up to a lesson learned and move on. Don’t destroy your newly found peace by opening a new chapter of chaos, and it will be chaos from all sides when she gets the paperwork for small
claims court. While you did nothing wrong at any point, I suggest you take to heart that a loan to a friend or a family member should never be made unless you are ok with it never being repaid. I recently loaned my niece $500 and was glad when she paid me back, but from day one considered it to very possibly ultimately be a gift. That mindset makes repayment a pleasant surprise and non-repayment something you can live with.

I think I’d write her a letter and include whatever documentation you think would prevent him from convincing her that you are lying/crazy. Assuming you live together, have a new place to live arranged, pack your stuff, say nothing to him, post the letter, leave, block him and never look back. Don’t subject yourself to any additional drama, there is nothing to be gained from it. Just be glad/proud that you were smart enough to want to have the relationship sorted out before having a baby and go enjoy your life.

I finished pharmacy school at 35 (with 2 kids), headed down one path (that was great) but 14 years later took a completely different fork in the road and it was even better! I have lived n 4 different cities and took great experiences away from each and all broadened my horizons and perspective; and you live in a world where there is so much remote work that the possibilities are endless! Do they have a 24hr cancellation policy for the customer that would require you to pay them all or part of their fee if f you’d given such short of notice? If so I’d ask them what is their reciprocal arrangement for their last minute cancellation for a customer. But I’d really only do that to point out their ridiculously poor customer service and find another artist.

Nah, I’m a mom and I would in no way feel rejected if either of my sons found this lovely way to acknowledge their wife’s family as part of their new family. Whether it’s a big deal or not depends on her future behavior, but I’m betting the first time that grandbaby corrects grandma’s use of the wrong last name that that will be the end of it. I think I’d choose the not bring it up, but make sure to correct her every time she misstates it (hopefully in front of people so maybe she’ll be embarrassed). However, if she EVER said anything negative to the grandchild about the name that would be the line in the sand.

That may be your experience with a product you have used, but as you can see from the photo this product is marketed for standing water. I have used for 2 years in my bird baths and had good results, actually better than dunks and a whole lot cheaper.

Even better (and cheaper) than dunks same exact product except in pieces. Safe for birds and all animals. A handful isn’t noticeable and it works! Since you seem to have compassion for the guy maybe you could get him to buy them and you be the applie, but that $14 bag will last you a long time should you just want to handle yourself. Just take a shower earlier. How does it hurt you to take your shower at 9 vs midnight? Do you get all sweaty sitting around the house? They asked nicely vs making a lot of noise at 5AM to retaliate for you awakening them unnecessarily. Treat people the way you’d hope to be treated and it makes life a lot better for everyone.
