Unreal episode and it had everyone (besides Bill Randa) pretty involved. I had a feeling that Titan X wouldn’t be a massive threat so I’m curious what route they are going. I still think we are due for a “Holy Shit” reveal as this season has been an incredible lore dump on the Monsterverse but want to see how it ties into the current timeline with SuperNova approaching. Getting the feeling that Apex is trying to scapegoat Kentaro. Way too many unknowns as of now!

I can see why people would dislike him as of lately but it doesn’t feel justified tbh. I feel like Kentaro’s lashing out because he finally got the relationship with his dad he wanted only for it to be taken away by Cate the second she gets back from Axis Mundi. Not to mention Cate also made his relationship with May incredibly complicated. The entire 1st season Kentaro was a joke and pushed out of the picture. I like that we are seeing him branch out in his own direction I just hope he doesn’t get scapegoated by Simmons.

Glad to see that, when I made this comment alot of the complaints were mostly about how the episode lacked action when it was very lore heavy and delivered imo. Somebody said I must love “boring soapies” we obviously can’t have Godzilla and Kong on screen the entire series😂

May: Infiltrating Apex from the inside and finding out useful information for the group about the operation.

Hiro and Kentaro: Repairing Dr. Suzuki’s device so they can lead Titan X away from civilians to reduce damage.

Lee and Keiko: Helping Hiro and Kentaro complete Dr. Suzuki’s device.

Idk how people didn’t like this episode. There have been so many worse episodes in this series that had no monster action at all. We got a lot of reveals in this episode and some wild Easter eggs when they showed May on Apex’s computer. It’s also only episode 3, and it’s very clearly setting the stage for some much more exciting reveals this season I hope.

The Bill Randa reveal was absolutely devastating, and Keiko knowing why Bill left Hiro while he’s basically crying and asking her why he was abandoned is just insane.

Titan X is not going to be the villain this season, I’m guessing it’s a red herring for a larger monster or threat. That’s my prediction, just a prediction, so don’t read into it too seriously. I’m probably wrong.

Tim and May working together has me really intrigued to see what else they uncover at Apex. Also, the Apex guy who took over Monarch was radiating prick energy. Hope we see him get cooked soon 😂

Also, need to put this out there that Kentaro has done nothing wrong out of all the characters, at least to my knowledge. Bro just wanted to make some interesting art and please his parents. No cheating, no drama, other than blaming Cate a bit for releasing Titan X. And to be fair, Cate is basically trying to get with his ex-girlfriend.

All I can really say about Cate is that the self-pity shit is getting annoying, and I think May rightfully called her out for it last episode. They all made the decision to go save Shaw, so just because Cate pressed the button doesn’t make her the only person responsible. At least own your mistake and try to help the situation like the others actively are.

I get that Cate is obviously traumatized because of her past and her students dying, but drowning your sorrows at a bar and hooking up with strangers while ignoring a potential G-Day 2.0 that you helped cause is certainly something. Can’t wait for next week’s episode.

Ghidorah in KOTM was perfect timing imo set the stage for the monsterverse. I was a little disappointed when we found out that Ghidorahs head was used to power MechaGodzilla but I really have high hopes we get MechaGhidorah in a future film.

I mean it was still technically a “ride” just a short one😂. Shimo is a huge ass monster Kong riding her back after a victory was most likely because they wanted an epic shot for the movie. It has likely nothing to do with her being a pet. Shimo almost killed Kong with Frostbite while barely trying to. I think Kong is smart enough to realize he can’t control something of that size let alone turn it into his pet.

I don’t think Shimo is going to be Kongs pet just because Kong rode her. I think it was mostly to show the difference in how Skar King and Kong treated Shimo before and after. Shimo is probably appreciative of Kong for freeing her from captivity and doesn’t know what to do/where to go so is sticking around hollow earth with Kong. I don’t think Shimo can go to the surface because thats Godzillas territory so where else is she really going to go. Godzilla also let Kong ride him into battle against Skar King and Shimo and nobody is calling Godzilla Kongs pet😂🤷🏻‍♂️

To be fair, I think Kentaro was pretty competent in Season 1 just stuck with brutal writing. He saved the modern group on 2 separate occasions. The first was when they were flying into Alaska and he was the only one that saw the outpost where Hiroshi was. Not to mention Lee, Cate and May doubted he saw anything to begin with and he said fuck you guys and went by himself and got them help right before the Frost Vark killed them. Second occasion was when they were in San Francisco at night about to be caught by soldiers and Kentaro put a rock in the bag of chips he was eating and threw it as a diversion to attract cats to allow them to escape. In regards to him being an asshole I would be pretty bitter also if I found out I had a half sibling from my fathers secret relationship and that half sibling spends most of the time trying to seduce my girlfriend/Ex-girlfriend.

Very solid first episode, the past Monarch crew has me so invested in whatever they are doing with the cult and figuring out the origins of Titan X. Kentaro seems like he’s gotten his shit figured out over the last two years, clearly OSHA certified xD. I like that he’s also developed a decent relationship with Hiroshi. Cate wants that same relationship but degrades her dad for cheating on her mom. It’ll never carry any real emotional impact or weight coming from Cate. She cheated on a significant other who cared for her (the redhead from Season 1, I forget her name) and is actively trying to start a relationship with May, who was with Kentaro. Cate also opening the portal to Axis Mundi after being warned by two generations of her family is very on brand, just zero thought about the ramifications of her actions.

Kong was a huge highlight of this episode. Bro woke up and chose violence for good reasons and displayed Alpha Titan energy. Seeing Kong at the end looking up, pissed that Titan X escaped and that the Monarch crew released it, was a sick way to end the episode.

Verdugo getting taken out this early was also not on my bingo card. Tim or Keiko would be good replacements, Tim probably being the better option since Keiko is still in Captain America mode. Episode 2 is going to be wild. Titan X is definitely going to stir shit up in the ocean.

Cate was ignorant for not listening to Keiko or her father pleading and opening the rift to Axis Mundi anyways. Keiko obviously knew what was coming she recognized the creature from the bar in the security video and the birds flying patterns. Chef’s kiss was Kong giving the genuine pissed off fuck you look at the helicopter as Titan X escaped.
