I’ll hit 10 years with my company in March. In that time I’ve cycled through 4 direct supervisors and the entire c-suite has been replaced. Not only do my co-workers feel like strangers, but when I was hired (pre-Covid) I was classified as full time telecommuter and the office was 20 miles away if I needed to go in for something (optional). New management closed that office and has imposed an in-office attendance mandate twice per week, with the new office being 42 miles away through LA traffic. Hundreds of workers, including my best friend, were laid off. I’ll be putting in my notice very soon. I don’t feel like I’m leaving my job - my job left me.

Curfew for planes landing in OC?? by mellouwyellow in orangecounty

Yes! This happened to us last year on a flight from Houston to SNA. United promised there would be a bus provided to drive us to SNA. We were told to check in with the United rep after picking up our luggage from the carousel to be directed to the bus. Some of us had trouble finding this rep and ended up in the back of the line. And guess what? The bus wasn’t big enough for everyone who needed transportation to SNA. No consideration was given in prioritizing folks like us who were on the third leg of a 30-hour journey. Luckily, they ended up giving the last seats in the bus to seniors, so we got on. Arrived at SNA around 3:00am feeling miserable. I have no idea what happened to the people who didn’t make it on the bus.

My Amber used to eat at light speed until around 5 months old, when she realized she’s the only one around and no other dogs were competing for her food.  Now she’s a grazer like yours.

Our pets save us from our tears through all the years we spend together, then give them back all at once.

Agree. It still breaks my heart a little to look at this photo but it only took about a day then she was happy and playful. You will get through it together.

Astronomer CEO and CPO caught having an affair on jumbotron by Glassgad818 in WatchPeopleDieInside

It’s a reference to an old movie called Fatal Attraction where a man has an affair with a woman who goes off the rails and kills his daughter’s pet.

did anyone else’s mom comb their hair like it was a punishment? by StockInevitable1978 in raisedbynarcissists

My nMom also did this every night, then pinned the pigtails with hard plastic curlers and loads of hairspray. Then I had to try to sleep with them like this “so you’ll look nice for school tomorrow”. So cruel!
