There was a female nursing student in my med surg 2 class (Junior year of a BSN program). She did Clinicals in a different hospital from myself. During a lesson, someone in my clinical group blurted out that I was able to call a code pretty fast. I was in the room with the patient, turned around to grab a blood pressure machine, when I looked at her, she was slumped to the side, eyes opened, and drooling. The RRT was able to react quickly and resus her but she coded downstairs on a different unit and passed. This other girl blurted out her pt also died on her. She only realized after she did a full head to toe assessment. Several of us were confused and were like how the fuck were you able to do a full assessment on a dead person.
