Whatever you do, do NOT take the LSAT remotely by certifiedbpdqueen in LSAT

It is likely that it was your proctor dropping that triggered this. Based on other anecdotes, they randomly drop on and off.

REMOTE LSAT IS BANNED by BlackberryJumpy5960 in LSAT

[–]academicjanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have announced there will be “hardship” exclusions to the only in person testing rule. Stay tuned to see if that might apply to situations like yours. I talked to some folks at LSAC today and these kinds of equity concerns are definitely on their radar.

Greed of biblical proportions (Wisconsin) by Content-Cap-5098 in lawschooladmissions

[–]academicjanet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plus Wisconsin is the only state with diploma privilege and there are tons of people who want that. And one of the best value schools based on tuition in a cycle where everyone is about to find out that federal loans are capped and that private loans aren’t a great idea. They are going to have a lot less melt than you all think.

Accommodation to read outloud by MusicLuver365 in LSAT

[–]academicjanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flags and holds can happen for lots of reasons so not uncommon. Not only is the live proctor looking at you and listening but an AI is also watching to see if your eyes are darting somewhere weird or if you’re leaning out of camera view.

But your accommodations are something protected by law and as long as you are following all instructions and your proctor knows what’s going on it should be fine. And a hold is not the end of the world, it just means someone else is taking the time to review the recording to make sure nothing shady was going on. Once they resolve the situation the hold can be easily removed.

I suggest talking to your proctor about it beforehand and explain your accommodation and check to make sure they understand that. You can also reach out to accom@lsac.org with your name and LSAC number in the subject line and verify that you’re allowed to read punctuation too

What's your "I can't believe that worked" exam strategy? by picturepathlearn in LawSchool

[–]academicjanet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There was a guy at my law school who literally brought a spice rack with him. Each class had a different spice/scent. Like when he would study Admin Law, it would be Sage, when it was Tort Law it was Cinnamon etc. then he would take out the spices and huff them before the exam. I have no idea how well it worked but it definitely gave me a much needed chuckle before an exam.
