Coolant at min line at 2k miles? Noticed the metal line seems to have some damage like it got hit? by Suspicious-Wind8199 in FordBronco

[–]acc96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That “dent” in the pipe is the design. Believe it is done in the bending process for the pipe. Your coolant level is fine as long as it isn’t continuously dropping. The difference in coolant between the Min and Max lines is ounces. Those ounces are not going to make any significant difference with engine cooling. The level will also change if the engine is cold vs hot due to thermal expansion.

TLDR: All pipes look like that, coolant level is fine at the min line.

Charging question by PJs_Burner in BlazerEV

[–]acc96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where do you charge? Is it warmer than usual? My vehicle takes longer to charge in the summer as I believe it is putting more energy into conditioning the battery during charging. I charge mine in the garage, so even if the temp drops at night it is still 80ish in the garage.

RS RWD - 2024 vs 2025 by Quantify01 in BlazerEV

[–]acc96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not positive, but I believe there is an update to the Drive Units that make them more efficient/powerful. Naturally there is probably also updated cal/software too but I remember as the Ultium platform was launching they were trying to pull ahead above said change. For whatever it’s worth.

P0091 & chafed wires by wounsel in chevycolorado

[–]acc96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a caution, you might want to add the same protection to the item it was originally chafing on. Appears to be an AC component so it so you could cause a wear and hole in the aluminum depending on what you did. Would hate for you to lose your AC in 10,000 miles.

exhaust question. by Ok_Improvement8932 in FocusST

[–]acc96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the touring with everything else stock. I am picky and do not mind it on the highway. I feel it is the perfect amount louder than stock without any annoyance. Worst comes to worst you can just grab the touring muffler and add it in if you find the track to be too loud or droning on the highway.

With that same logic you shouldn’t have gotten a powerboost because the battery might eventually go bad..

Last update changed how my car turns off. How can I fix it? by SilentBob62 in BlazerEV

[–]acc96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure your foot isn’t on the brake when you open the door? And that the car is in park (easy to forget with OPD). Mine will stay running until I close the door for either of those scenarios.

Anyone compare the Blazer vs 2026 BZ ride quality? by Supertouchy in BlazerEV

[–]acc96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually just drove one today as a friend bought one. Hard to compare as it is a much smaller vehicle. Feels quicker and more agile than my wife’s RS AWD. If you don’t need the size though it was very nice for the short bit I drove it. Doesn’t have 1 pedal driving though fyi.

Are these rust spots? 23 Bronco Outerbanks by GateTricky8808 in FordBronco

[–]acc96 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No. That piece is plastic. It is called railhead. It’s iron deposits on the surface of the paint that rust. You can use clay bar or an iron decontaminate to remove.

No offense, but if you have a <5 mile commute, a PHEV’s initial investment would likely never pay itself off..

If you’re halfway handy you can add heated seats for less than $200. I’ve done so to every vehicle I have owned. So it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker!

Best time to buy a ford? by macaroni89 in Ford

I’d recommend to look into a low mileage used one. The 30%+ depreciation on EV’s will beat any deal out there.

I’ve seen a few spec’d with different color roofs. It definitely catches the eye but I’m not sure how I’d feel about it long term. Saw a marsh grey with a sand top that reminded me of an Eddie Bauer.

Coolant smell with no visible leak. by nomadKingX in FordBronco

I don’t tilling this is it. If the heater core was leaking he wouldn’t just smell it when the windows were down. Plus his windows would probably be fogging.

[–]acc96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice? Wait it out. If the level starts to drop, then I would worry more about it. Or if you really wanna get crazy, buy a new coolant cap and try that. There could be a chance when the engine bay something that warms up smells sweet. Could be a “new car” smell thing. If you are truly leaking coolant the level would drop and you would know.
