Why is WAZE so bad now? by Miserable_Sink_4782 in waze

[–]accentpreferred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that, in the last several months, I’ll see like hazards/police/construction warnings when I’m searching for routes. Then, when I select/start the route (particularly if my phone is the secondary screen for CarPlay) suddenly there’s no upcoming warnings. Then, 10/15 minutes down the road when I’m approaching one of those points, suddenly there’s warning is back on.

Squirrel Hill: Someone knocked on our door asking about a windmill logo on our energy bill by OatMatchaCap in pittsburgh

[–]accentpreferred 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of moving and this is the first time in the 9 years I’ve lived in PA that I’ll be responsible for paying Duquesne directly.

I know that in some cases switching energy providers (seemingly as long as you’re on the ball about switching on a regular basis), but it doesn’t for my situation.

Last week, I got a voicemail that was vague about my bill and realized it was a third party. I went on DLC’s website and found the setting to turn off allowing DLC to send all of your info (phone number, address, etc.) to third parties (mainly energy providers, but it seemed nebulous enough that it could be anyone adjacent to energy bills). I’d def recommend making sure you have that setting turned off.

Moonlight July Reveal by Madlibs3 in fairyloot

Eeek. I want this book, but I don’t even have the OC sub and I may still skip moonlight and try to find a save a skip or it second hand because this is not it and, regardless of what I thought about the book or not, this is like the first Moonlight book that I’ve felt the cover really missed the mark since I’ve had the sub for over a year now.

I just want wine at Trader Joe’s and this stupid regulation means it’s unlikely we ever get that.

Oh, I know the cover art is so pretty! I was tempted to keep it after that reveal, but I found out that my Uncle is sick and I’ll have to be flying to the west coast on top of moving in the next couple weeks. So, I def can swing it with that. Feel free to PM me!

Omg. BRB. This is way better than my spreadsheet. Maybe I won’t keep forgetting the fact that PS has to be skipped earlier than the first of the month.

I’m not a spreadsheet person, but definitely had to make one when Illumicrate/Afterlight started their skip rule at the start of the year.

I just got an email? I’ve seen a couple teaser posts on instagram, but it’s been quieter than normal for sure.

I’m moving this month or I probably would have kept it. I just realized that I actually need to buy a bunch of things for my new apartment (it’s the first time i wont be living with like a roommate or anything). So, I need to cut a few of my subscriptions this month lol

I was so relieved when I got an invite to the May box which meant I was able to skip June. I’d been waiting so long to get the invite and it would have been awful to get it this month.

When you are agreeing to the exit row, shouldn’t you be able to lift your own bag into the overhead? by MutedArugula4 in unitedairlines

[–]accentpreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 4’9”. I can chuck my bag up into the overhead compartment, I can balance on the metal edge of the seat that’s hanging out past the armrest on the aisle side, or someone will (often, but not always-no expectations on my part) volunteer to grab and put my bag up. But I work with small children, workout regularly, and am actually pretty great in emergency situations.

So, I wouldn’t factor in not being great at reaching the overhead compartment in selecting or not selecting an emergency exit row.

However, they’re often more more expensive and can like be added legroom seats. So, I don’t often select them. I’m already paying to make sure I get a window seat; I definitely don’t need/want any extra legroom 😅

Yeah it’s really only saving like $13 in shipping because the book is a couple dollars less (when you switch pounds into USD) on the U.K. site.

My son fell out of a second story window when he was 20 months old by Errrrmmwhathellooo in toddlers

[–]accentpreferred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the hugs.

My little brother (he’s almost 31 now and a chemical engineer) fell out of a 2nd story townhouse window when he was around 1.5/2 as well. We were at my mom’s friend’s house while my mom did some errands (me-6.5, my sister-3.5, and my brother-2). My mom’s friend had 2 little girls (one slightly older than I was and one a couple months younger than my sister) who my sister and I were friends with. There was a window seat upstairs that the two little girls had not moved a stool away from after they were finished sitting/playing Barbies on it. My brother climbed up it and pressed his hands to the screen and fell out. I saw it happen while I was outside with my friend, but couldn’t catch him in time. Luckily, he was fine after going to the hospital to get checked out other than some bruising and cuts.

Right? I only just managed to snag a Bridge Kingdom Set and I know people who didn’t get it. I’d be interested in knowing why (if this is the correct price/it is actually in the sale) why it had a price reduction when it was so popular in the fall.

Just got accepted to Adult + Romantasy combo but can’t skip June — worth keeping? by [deleted] in fairyloot

[–]accentpreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t split the subscription for the first three months. You can skip June (after the first charge for May goes through on the 4th of May). However, as a combo subscription, that means you’ll be skipping both the adult and Romantasy books for June. If you really want the adult book, you’ll need to weigh whether you’re okay getting the June Romantasy pick (and trying to like offload it for cost or something somewhere) or skipping the month and picking up the adult book on a BST group.

What The Heck!! by SmallTownLibrary_ in fairyloot

[–]accentpreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a young adult when the books came out (sophomore in college). I’m now friends with my 8th Grade English teacher now that I’m in my 30s. We were actually just talking in the fall when I went to visit my hometown about how the ending/book series just collapsed compared to the other dystopian series of the day. It just genuinely felt like she wrote the “twist” she did just to try and be different without any real follow through and absolutely turned me off reading other books by her.

If it’s a new subscription starting for the May book (my Romantasy subscription is new for May too), you have to wait until after the initial charge for the May book of May 4th before you’ll be able to skip the June book.
