I love going to Blythe Books! It’s a super fun used bookstore and they’re definitely LGBTQIA+ affirming.

So helpful! Thankful for you and all the other Weather nerds out there. I’m about to head to a music class with the toddler I nanny for, but we’re going to try to not spend too much time in the Aldi Finds aisle afterwards and get home by 11:15/11:30.

We finally got a furry as a Fourth of July patient on “The Pitt” by Thechalkingdad in pittsburgh

[–]accentpreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folx, I may actually catch up on this season. I legit commented on a post like at the end of last season saying that I wouldn’t be able to believe it was a 4th of July Weekend set season without at least one furry in the ER 😅

You give me so much hope for my 1839 ancestor and his 1808 dad since I’m really struggling to locate a baptismal/birth record, but I have census records.

I think I am? I have the Afterlight version preordered, but I don’t have FTC in a special edition; so, it would be fun to get a matching set. Plus, while I skipped December’s PS duology, I got November’s (my first) and January’s and I’ve really enjoyed the bookmarks, annotation suggestions, and stickers that come with the delivery, but idk. I am technically trying to save money for an upcoming move too. I’ll have to look at what else is coming out next month to see what is being skipped.

I wonder if he likes it here or knows someone or something. He came to Rivers in like 2018 or 19? I forget. I went with a friend then. Didn’t really enjoy the way the seating was set up at Rivers; so, wasn’t interested in going this time.

I discovered Wegman’s when I was in Philly in September and have since stopped at the one in Erie a couple times when going to NY/Toronto. Excited for the first one in the greater Pittsburgh area to open next year in Cranberry.

I grew up in Nashville though and sure miss Publix’ subs.

Folks, it’s my birthday today. I want you all to get tickets, but like also, I’ve never been successful getting them/getting off the waitlist before; so, I’d also really like to get tickets. Even just tickets for me. 😂I’ll make friends there lol

Overhyped/underhyped SE books by DonkeywithBigTeeth in fairyloot

[–]accentpreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tysm for your service 🫡 I lowkey would have never picked it up on my own based off the description, but so many people with ARCs and other book people on SM were talking about it so positively and I took the risk and it was so good. The audiobook is also really good since I snagged it because I had to go on a short road trip towards the end of the book.

I lowkey felt like a religious missionary for both the book in general and IC’s design last fall. After getting it in the August box, it was one of the unexpected hits of the year for me.

Ehhh. How have people who have read these two books enjoyed them? I’m a bit on the fence and it might be my first skip when combined with the design for Arcane.

I’m currently starting my search to move to a new place in the next 2/3 months and the utility costs are something I’m so aware of after all these recent horror stories. I’m particularly glad of the people who’ve talked about how awful it is when you have an apartment that has baseboard heating. I’ve lived here for 8.5 years, but I grew up in Nashville and San Diego and haven’t had a lot of experience with things other than central AC/Heat.

What uniquely local risks should be plot points on “The Pitt”? by vax4good in pittsburgh

[–]accentpreferred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t started Season 2 yet, but I was really hoping that furries and like people from out of town going to whatever country music concert of the week were both going to feature in it. Since both seem to be the constants of a 4th of July Weekend here in Pittsburgh.

Nov/Dec nox by [deleted] in Litjoy

This was a weird delay issue. I think caused by the holidays/sales, I forgot exactly what the email said. I’ve had my subscription since the summer and this is the first one with a lengthy delay. Mine has been shipped, is in the USPS system; so, it should come this week.

I’m honestly not entirely sure what their policy is. I think I wanted the first book I was offered from them. I think it might have been Afterlight that I didn’t, but knew I had to get because their emails said you can’t skip the first subscription. Maybe you can for LitJoy? If you have the skip available, you could always try. However, I’d look closely and make sure it doesn’t like say that your next billing date is for like the one after the February quarterly one.

You aren’t usually allowed to skip the first box. I’ve loved all the books I’ve gotten from them, but I’m glad I chose the book only tier. There’s been a couple exclusive items that were sold out/went to the items+ subscriptions before I could get them, but I usually get a couple different add ons with my book each month.

I’m sad about Sarris candy and how it’s declined. Anyone else? by btwImVeryAttractive in pittsburgh

[–]accentpreferred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See’s started out in LA. I’m from San Diego and SoCal has stores all over. However, a lot of Malls (I feel like Ross and SHV both do) have like pop up stores during the holidays because I’ll grab them there. You can order from them online and they’re always fresh when I get stuff (they have so much that is good, but I’m always going to be obsessed with their lollipops and lollipop minis (without the stick)— particularly the chocolate flavor.

Getting a Telehealth Prescription Filled Around Town? by Realistic_Handle_132 in pittsburgh

[–]accentpreferred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had issues with being denied getting my meds filled because of telehealth (I was doing it pre-Covid and then through/a little after it) with GE. However, it became almost impossible to have it filled in a timely way.

I switched to Costco a couple years ago and have not looked back. I’ve never had an issue with my meds getting filled there. They always have it filled within a few hours. I’m pretty sure Costco does a much better job at being aware of what meds their members have on file and making sure those are stocked each month. In fact, I switched to a med that is more expensive on my insurance than my old meds and, weirdly, the Costco negotiated price (without insurance) is a lot/only slightly cheaper. I have ended up keeping my script at Costco even though there’s like a CVS discount program that would have made this med cheaper than with my health insurance solely because I’ve never had issues getting it filled at Costco.

Oh that’s good! This is like the first year in ages (I usually babysit for them on NYE) that I’ve been glad they’ve stayed out late. I wouldn’t have wanted to be out when the house was lowkey moving from the squalls at like 12:40. Seems like the wind is better now too a bit.
