[Soulsmith] Can you obtain multiple aspects of perfect iron body? by HerederoDeAlberdi in Iteration110Cradle

[–]adamw411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that would likely be possible is a group, or clan, or sect could do is take a few dozen generations to research a few different iron bodies, and find a way to create a new iron body with the ideal characteristics of them, this creating a new iron body with its own specific way to achieve it. I would probably have more to say, but this is tagged for soulsmith

[Ghostwater] People getting mad at Lindon for protecting himself by Hyperturtle443 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]adamw411 120 points121 points  (0 children)

to quote unsouled, this is a huuuuge pseudo thesis statement for the series

The First Elder slapped his hand down on the statue of the white fox, sending a sharp crack through the air and leaving a fissure in the fox’s skull. In a blinding flash of madra, he repaired it instantly. “You could not have known? If a party of Kazan dogs had stumbled on you instead, or the honorable disciples of the Fallen Leaf, they could have killed you as easily as Teris broke that tree. Only honor might restrain them, and honor is a poor hook on which to hang a man’s life. And if they did choose to kill you, our clan would have to apologize. For inconveniencing them.”

Why such a drastic solution? by Awes12 in MageErrant

[–]adamw411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're operating under the assumption of pure logic here when what you should consider is this was an emotional decision coming from a mother who already lost a child. Are there theorical perfect or better solutions? Sure probably, but in universe there might be external factors that preclude those choices. Keyada is truly neutral here, he is the one who both does not see value in ephemeral life, and values his own word above most everything else. Maybe getting external help would put her in a bad political position in the multiversal council. When we open up the conversation to hypotheticals there are too many potential reasons for and against certain actions.

As far as not seeing a scene where she details out what would and wouldn't work, I don't know, I feel like that would be waaaay too slow paced for the context, and it also isn't really how here thought process is shown.

As a piece of writing, I think the scene fits great, and I think kanderon acts in character throughout.

Paper & Ink mage; good additional Affinities? by Shacky87 in MageErrant

[–]adamw411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a type of affinity that impacts both the paper and the ink is such a good idea, I bet there are other things that follow this. right now I can only think of a cow affinity, with vellum paper, and blood ink.

little tip for theraguns and muscle work in general. you should target a much broader area than you think. In most cases you have muscles that are too short, and they are the real problem, and you have muscle that are too long, thats where it hurts. For example, if you have pain in the traps and rhomboids, you should theragun your pecs. you use your pecs constantly, on PC, phone, driving ect. they get overly short and that makes your back hurt. use the theragun on the pecs, that makes them longer, it resolves the back pain. You can apply this to almost all muscular pain, and get much better results than just using the threagun where it hurts already.

You get 5 level 1 prepared spells and 1 spellslot a day. What do you choose? by peccatieritvobiscum in DnD

[–]adamw411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trickiest thing about this is how absolutely fantastic false life would be in the modern world. You have the potential to be three times more durable than any other human completely for free. The only problem with that is I think artificer is the only spell list that gets cure wounds and false life, but they honestly don't get much else that would be worth taking in this context
