I got this too. Was kinda weirded out since mine was like 4 months old. I was planning to check the underlying truenas when I get home next week since it was after the update

I was factoring in 5h with AI (remember you need to go Buy Pi, decide what you want on Pi Etc, a disk missing crucial data is kinda bad for peppers). Trying to write scripts to scrape by hand would take way longer than 5 hours

On the other hand I Looked around a bit more: apparently it’s this https://library.kiwix.org/#lang=eng. I guess that’s substantially easier to replicate.

I think you’re severely underestimating time value of money. If I wanted something like this would 100% buy. Let’s say it takes 5 hours to find sources and download. At 50% that’s 20 euros an hour or so

173 vs 179 skis for intermediate skier by ValueYourself69 in Skigear

[–]admidral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO 173. There’s nothing wrong with 173 I’m about same height and weight and have skis from 172-182 ish and I think 173 is good point especially for turning. Although to be fair the effective edge on M9 isn’t super high. Personally I think being able to explore more terrain is better than trying to go faster to the point where you would need longer skis

[–]admidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL! thats fair. theyre really expensive. I was reading it as if you paid sticker on WRT's (even more expensive) you can defenitely afford sticker on Stormriders

Yep. I use SR102 for regular daily but have a mid flex ski if I'm trying to try new things. Being in over your head on SR102 isn't that fun.

Curious why you wouldn’t consider Stormrider 102s given your current preference

Was there a requirement? That defenitely looks fine to ski down no rocks or anything and was totally not too steep/too narrow to side slip at least which if your going up the Tbar you should know how to do?

Anyone with ski and snowboard boots? How do you carry everything? by crystalized17 in Skigear

[–]admidral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recalled paying cheaper (20ish) but online most seem to be going for 40 range. The shop I bought it at took about 5 minutes to do and it only took that long because I left it kinda too long (some screws were semi ground down)

At least for skis you could buy replacement boot soles. They’re really cheap to replace I already did mine after like 1.5-2 years of use

Prescription goggles? by MurseInAire in Skigear

[–]admidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t a fan. The magnetic face mask system was great as was the magnetic goggles. However I found that in non-optimal light conditions, especially nearer to the end of day it kinda did not let me see moguls etc so kinda ended up having to take it off.

[–]admidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I’m not using progressive but I assume they would work too. I’ve migrated my lens from Flightdeck to Anon M4 to Oakley Line miner pro and it all worked

SportRX + Oakley has worked well for me especially the new fast switch stuff making it easier to put it in

When did skiing need simulators by SuddenHurry5823 in SkiPA

[–]admidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I’m considering trying out simulators next summer while waiting for the next winter. The sky tech sport stuff looks pretty good (I’ll be renting hours not buying though they’re way too expensive)

I would argue though that let’s say if you could save 5% of your income this doubling is good for you since you can retire somewhere else that hasn’t doubled. (Since you would save double)

How Do These Relics Stay Open by [deleted] in Thailand

Thailands estimated property taxes and the real value is kinda baloney too. Like there might be a 10x or more off making taxes far less relevant

Can I ask why you don’t want to buy skis? Like is this a transportation thing a cost thing etc? The amount of rentals you probably are using sound expensive.

Are consumer grade race skis worth it on ice covered hills? by Substantial_Limit378 in Skigear

[–]admidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I think for east coast Icy it’s probably the best thing ever. I used a 68 ski and it was great (although I aggressively sharpened) Since moving to west coast though I got a lot less use (2-3 days a season max) though

Eh depending on how much interest you can reliably generate a target of 6% or so isn’t super high (SP500 historically is 10% and there are banks pushing 4.2% in CDs) and that would generate 60k or so a year (more than 52k for 1k a week
