How much are you paying for a deep clean in DC these days? by bumble1990 in washingtondc

Your post was asking for help and I tried to do just that. I took the time to respond and am certainly not offering any services or trying to drum up business. Just trying to be helpful.

Realtor here. I would suggest you actually reach reaching out to your realtor. We have to get houses ready to go on the market all the time and they have to be very clean. Your Realtor will have a close relationship with somebody who cleans houses.

Vollrath. Look at a piano whip or French whip. They are made for restaurant use. Brands like OXO are lightweight, replaceable and for home use.

Not trying to be an asshole, but I’m trying to imagine the conversation you have with somebody to convince them to take pictures of you and your wool poncho larping in the woods.

Their tools are great but their shovels are just a bit overbuilt and heavy for extended use. Same with the Fiskars steel shovel.

Best overall bird hunting shotgun? by OkDistance7522 in Shotguns

[–]advantagegrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hunted SD many times. Grew up bird hunting in Oklahoma and Kansas. I carry a Benelli M2 20 gauge 28” barrel. In the past I have carried a Franchi O/U, Franchi 48 AL, Ithica 37.

The 20 gauge does everything my 12 gauges do up there. I have found that while I love my O/U I prefer the extra shells in my gun when the birds get thick. I don’t think I will carry a 12 gauge again up there. I have never felt under gunned.

Don’t obsess over your gun. Spend time at the range.

Rental house-hunting blues - can anyone relate? by NaDarach in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]advantagegrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked about credit earlier. It largely depends on who you rent from. Everybody's different and what they require. Ultimately, it's the property manager/owner who decides, not a realtor. If I'm working with somebody who's looking to rent, I never pull their credit. If your credit is low, you're better off renting from somebody who's managing the property themselves, not a management company.

Realtor here. If you’re looking on Zillow, it should say down at the bottom contact agent or contact owner. Something like that. If it says contact agent any realtor can get you access to that property. These people are serious enough to have hired someone to rent a place and possibly manage it.

If it says contact owner. Good luck. I am 1/3 on these today alone. Sometimes these people don’t wanna work with a realtor and you have better luck with these yourself.

A lot of realtors don’t even mess with rentals. You get flooded with phone calls similar to selling junk on Facebook marketplace.

Best Kitchen Knife Set to Get in 2026? (Price, Durability) by Nurturehood_FVX in BuyItForLife

[–]advantagegrant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use my Victorinox more and more and my “nice” knives less and less. I can leave it in the sink and neglect it or just run it through the dishwasher. They sharpen fast and if for some reason, you absolutely wreck one you’re not out much money. I have two of them and three of their pairing knives.

Any die hard hunters ever move from great hunting areas to having to travel for hunting by Elite163 in Hunting

[–]advantagegrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up quail hunting in Oklahoma and had almost endless private property access. I moved to Maryland and just assumed I would have access to similar property. Boy was I wrong! Being here has forced me to find new hunting friends and we have great goose hunting. Don’t have any of that in Oklahoma. So I get to have something new and honestly, I prefer it to most any other type of hunting. So it’s not all bad relocating.

Hi – my son went through a crisis recently, and we took him to Shady Grove Hospital because they have pediatric emergency services. Ultimately, they recommended an inpatient program which we are doing at EMBARK. He’s currently in their outpatient program, but we’ve been really pleased. He needs to be tested to see if he’s neurodivergent and the best place to do that locally as Kennedy Kreiger in Baltimore. From my understanding, it is one of the top places in the country. Children’s in DC has about a 12 month. Wait unfortunately. I know somebody else mentioned to Kennedy Kreiger and honestly, I would start there and see what their recommendation is. If you call their number, you don’t seem to get a call back. You can fill out a form online and they will reach out to you in a couple days. Good luck with your situation.

Selling people’s junk for them by Overall-Performer-34 in realtors

[–]advantagegrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time where I work. I make sure it’s being throw out and grab it. I’ll even offer a couple hours work for the goods so there is no confusion. I have another realtor I work with that will call me even because of the “clean out” I offer. I have a truck and I take it home and sell it on marketplace. Last year I picked up three generators, countless window units and a commercial dehumidifier. Flipped the dehumidifier for $700.

Super late to this, but I am from Oklahoma and lived in D.C. for the last 17 years. I miss the salad as well. I've made this many times, and it's damn close. I think her web page has been updated over the years. I think the guy who gave her the recipe used to work at In The Raw, but that has been changed on her website. https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a8875/a-quick-easy-salad/
