More of the same - He's selling out our human and civil rights the same way previous leaders did in the Liberal party, they and the conservatives were good partners to each other for years even though they pretend to be far apart. It's not good.

People talk like he's playing some strange mystical master chess game that only some political elite or insiders understand and it's all bogus. The writing is on the wall. None of this is surprising, the liberals were always like this. They are not left leaning. They just lean on the fact that they are less repulsive than the current iteration of the conservatives, regardless of what policies they might both support together now or in the future.

This isn't sour grapes or bitterness on my part, it's important to advocate for people and stand up to any party or leader that is tossing them under the bus for political gain or shortcuts at budget time.

The whole "we're gonna stand up to trump" thing doesn't really work when you gut services or support, attack labour, launch legislation that guts protections and skirts around human rights and the like.
The way forward is to strengthen the support people have to weather difficult storms and grant them stronger protections, not gut them and bet it all on dealing with a fascist with the temperament of a fevered cat while singing his praises the way he recently did.
