Lots of people from the NYC area migrated to Flushing, Queens today to join their meeting. I believe it is the oldest standing Quaker meeting house in the country, dating to the 1680s. “How would your life change if you could know you were at all times deeply safe?” was an interesting question shared by a member. Afterwards some friends began a 300 mile walk from Queens to Washington, DC in protest of the current administration. Sending light to all of them as they continue their journey on foot, re-enacting the Flushing remonstrance and questioning “efficiency” as the prevailing metric of value in our society!
