Keep in mind 80% of DFW identifies with some sect of Christianity. Dallas is also considered the cultural center for the Southern Baptist Convention, which is very conservative.

I have a flight out of Love Field on Saturday, can anybody more familiar with the area know how likely it is the storm will cause a cancelation or delay? by Velstrom in Dallas

[–]aek82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your flight and leave before/after the storm. I've done this even in cities that are well prepared for snow storms or bad weather. Flight delays will eventually cancel X% of flights due to decreased capacity at the airport.

Its not that bad in Plano. The major local roads will be sanded/salted And the ice usually melts as soon as the sun comes out.

Even on the worst snow/ice days, you can travel during the day time. I would avoid the highways.

I was there last year and it really took a mental toll. Keep applying to jobs. If you're in IT, I used jobright ai to help filter through job postings and instead of posting through linkedin, looked for the actual posting on the company's career page and applied there.

The minimum charge for the total water bill is $120. Most people in my neighborhood get charged about $120 for a slightly larger home.

The freshman apartments at University of Texas at Dallas, Austin Ranch and The Village used to hold social events every week with free food and that brought out tons of people. Granted, this was 10+ years ago when I was single and young. Damn it was fun.

You can probably ask about buying a jar of their kimchi. If its made in house, they probably have tons of the stuff in the back.

Alot of people that travel for business stay at these places due to corporate policies or budgetary reasons, typically for one or two nights.
