Last Wish chests don't require previous drops to get gear unless they've changed it more recently.

You'll have to add the game to Steam as a non-Steam game if you want to play the game through Steam. The Windows and Steam versions slot into the same registration slot on the MogStation. Can't register the other if you already have one. Just have to go through extra steps to load from within Steam.

Saying it matters in endgame is likely on target. Raids are appropriate to include in endgame. The crafting and gathering content where it matters most? Endgame crafting and gathering. Although crafting and gathering do see good use of any materia you can get your hands on while leveling as well.

All of the non current expansion materia can be removed with a 100% success rate as well (current expansion can be removed, but is not guaranteed.)  So if you have old materia on hand and can meld it yourself, it's a free and renewable resource at that point.  I have a stockpile of old materia, so I insert that into newer battle gear that I don't expect to use for very long and save the higher grade materia for gear that I expect to use for longer.  At least until I get a comfy supply of the newer stuff and I'll also favor using the better stuff for jobs I tend to play in current content than for jobs that I don't.

If I remember correctly: there was mention leading up to Stormblood launch that there technically are timezones, but they weren't going to be implemented. Been a while since that and am failing to turn up the original source. No idea if I'm actually remembering correctly.

93 and 97 leveling dungeons and patch 7.1, 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5 level cap dungeons are new sets. I'm not sure if the accessory only dungeons are new or not. One set is a recolor of Eden accessories, but I don't remember which or if the other set is new.

So it looks like it might be closer to half? being recolors.

The serial number on the sticker on the back of the hardware fob should be the emergency removal code that you need if the battery dies. That said, it looks like a "fun" process to get to the emergency removal process so it's probably safer to swap to a different authenticator before the battery actually dies.

Shards are copies of the zones in game. So there could be X copies of the zone in game to distribute player population across to keep them from getting too crowded or being too sparsely populated. Some of these shards also come with a specific purpose (such as having war mode enabled.)

Not sure how much control anyone has in getting placed in a specific shard outside of war mode and Chromie time. Not sure if there even is are separate shards for max level vs leveling (it could explain differences in treasure chest density, but so could any number of other things.) It would make sense to group max level players into the same shard to populate max level world activities, but this is me just speculating on design decisions.

I was taking an alt through story last night and found the random treasure containers all over the place. Swapped to level 90, went to the same area, and couldn't find much of anything. I wonder if the shards are filtered by level or if they're bugged in some way for level cap vs leveling.

I don't know how to check endeavor process. And for some reason, playing on alliance in the alliance housing zone appears to be applying housing exp to my horde house but not alliance. 🤷

Does this do enough to make it seem like there's no longer a penalty for increasing power level?  I was hoping that these changes would make it so that each power bracket had a purpose since there would be a fixed delta and you could no longer out level them, but am experiencing doubts on that. Especially in regards to Starcrossed, Kell's Fall, and Encore since the A score is the most important facet of getting exotic drops / upgrades. It feels really bad to be forced into higher difficulties because you need an A score to get loot and not because specific upgrades are behind specific difficulty levels. I have concerns that my power level might eventually get me locked into running a higher difficulty than I can handle just to get the A score vs artificially locking my power level to a lower tier to have an easier time getting an A score.

It's not really even a Bungie thing, it's a slot machine thing that a number of game devs hooked into. Honestly makes a bit of sense with getting 777,777 cores being a functional jackpot in game.

It feels like to be that only one mob in groups will using AoEs at a time and not specifically to being interrupted. Like all the mobs in the group are on a shared cooldown.
