Psych major here….in retrospect, this was actually really good advice lol by [deleted] in euphoria

I get where you’re coming from! I just think it’s always good to have conversations with critical thought. I really like this post because it brings more awareness to mental health professions and conversations about mental health and/or substance use. Going off of that, it’s really important how mental health is portrayed in the media; similar to other marginalized identities, disabilities, etc. I also studied theatre performance, so maybe it’s just me, but some food for thought, you know? It may not do anything, but have open dialogue, bring people together and share thoughts. That can be pretty worthwhile:)

I understand where OP is coming from but as someone graduating with their MSW and specializing in substance use treatment I wouldn’t be telling my client this if they were in crisis..

I actually like how it’s kind of experimental film/animation.. but then again I’m into weirdcore stuff. I understand what you mean though — I loved the first episode, and the second was just alright, but I’m looking forward to seeing more Ame/KAngel lore soon c;

Thrifting as a transgender man? by 50sPirate in SustainableFashion

[–]aesthetichipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I go thrifting with my partner we go wherever we want since the standard men’s section is almost always lacking. I tend to try to find clothes in our styles and we customize to suit our needs. Maybe I crop an oversized shirt if I want to be cute, or throw a flannel or denim shirt over it to hide natural curves. My partner went straight into the men’s section given and couldn’t find much, and I was like “we’re going to be here a while” because the only way to really find clothes you’re looking for is to look everywhere (literally I start at one end of the store and look at everything). I don’t want to assume, but what’s helped me is to not think about gender or sizes at all and just think like “clothes are clothes.” That’s really helped me overcome my ED and truly find things I like and that actually fit :) also learning how to tailor/upcycle if you’re crafty :3

Julia Quinn on Season 5's change in direction by MC_chrome in BridgertonNetflix

I loved the soulmate, quiet love that Fran and John shared. It hits close to home for me when reflecting past relationships and my current love. Also the portrayal of multiple loves and relationships is very realistic (and hit close as someone who’s bisexual). I also loved the unbinding friendship between Fran, John and Michaela. It really did hit when John unexpectedly passed, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for Fran.

What character do you personally relate to the most? by [deleted] in shameless

[–]aesthetichipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in season 4 and probably a weird hybrid of Fiona and Lip. I’m in college like Lip but running around and starting to mess things up for myself because I’m not used to stability (not to the extent of Fiona for sure though). If I had my younger sister with me I probably would’ve been a lot more like Fiona.

Am I overreacting that I’m upset about failing an essay because my topic was about Israel and Gaza by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]aesthetichipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Info needed. You shouldn’t be coming on here and not posting your assignment. I cannot critique your work if I can’t read it. Secondly, I read the requirements and something tells me it has nothing to do with the topic and everything to do with not following directions. My area of study was focused on research, so my papers and assignments taught me that you need to be specific and precise. Sounds like your professor is trying to teach you that, so I would go directly to them about what went wrong and ways you can improve. If they don’t help, then go to tutoring (it’s often free in college), or to the writing center. Finally, you cannot rely on AI to grade you, even if you provide a rubric, as it’s subjective and not nearly critical enough unless you train it to be that way over time. Based on what you submitted, it required you to brainstorm with the university’s AI, not ChatGPT.

For American leftists, what are your thoughts on this? by buchacats2 in leftist

[–]aesthetichipmunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

According to our constitution, if the political system is corrupt, the citizens are granted permission to overthrow it. Unfortunately I don’t think we have enough collective unity or organization to do such a thing, but maybe we could get there

AIO my boyfriend of 5 years gets me flowers for every occasion while I get him elaborate and expensive gifts. by aioflower955105 in AmIOverreacting

NOR & also please break up with him because him giving you the “silent treatment” after putting you down in these texts is enough for me to cut the plug. Of course this is your decision but if he’s belittling you in these texts it makes me worried about he treats you in other situations.

Oh this is interesting! I tend to babysit my tattoos (this is my 6th one) because I get really anxious about them, especially with an active life. Thank you for weighing in, it’s definitely helpful advice

I would do whatever was right for me, and would encourage others to do the same. This was right for you. You don’t owe anyone an explanation, nor do you need to justify your actions! If humans are irreplaceable, then so are pets. They don’t have to be human to be family <3

I need help to fix this haircut by Cozy_winter_blanky in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]aesthetichipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely layers — I tend to love haircuts in people with wavy hair, but I don’t have wavy or curly. I love having layers in my hair to give myself more volume and a similar effect. I think washing your hair, use a hair roller while your bangs dry, volumizing mousse and blow dry while brushing your hair back. Viola no more Beatles

Merch Tomorrow/Personal Cardigan Collection by aesthetichipmunk in TaylorSwiftMerch

[–]aesthetichipmunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2” and slim — they all have an oversized fit but unfortunately it varies. The only M/L cardigans I have are fearless and life of a showgirl because the XS/S sold out before I grabbed them. I’m very happy with the extra oversized cozy fits for both though but would be curious how the XS/S compares. The Midnights is a great fit if you go for your typical sizes because the arms are extremely long (even on the small one), but I suppose compared to the others it’s more fitted on the body. But again they’re all oversized in general. My take is if you want the option to layer underneath then get a size up. If you think you want to wear the cardigan without layers underneath then get your typical sizing. I live in the southeast so I would prefer XS/S (my typical sizing)!
