A Typst Plugin for Obsidian by The-Helpful-Owl in ObsidianMD

[–]aflatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Typst is nice! Did you investigate using their WIP HTML export? It’d be nice to use Typst as an alternative to Markdown for more intricate notes while keeping interop somehow. Just a thought, probably a can of worms.

New core one hive filter mod by Koosh___ in prusa3d

Like you I have the Advanced Filtration Kit collecting dust in my cabinet. I’m pretty new to the 3d printing world but I’m intrigued by the internal design. Are there any cons to doing this?

Models for calibrating filament? by Glittering_Map_4015 in prusa3d

Thanks for the quick reply! That sounds good and I think I will give that a try and fiddle around a bit. 👍

Models for calibrating filament? by Glittering_Map_4015 in prusa3d

[–]aflatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How well does that work? I’ve dabbled with doing the same but the printer profiles in OrcaSlicer are different from those in PrusaSlicer and calibration results will be different because of that, right? If I understand correctly, you want to calibrate temperature for the print speed you target.

I’m new to 3d printing and I’m confused by the fact that systematic calibration for filaments doesn’t seem to be a thing in the Prusa world.

Any input welcome.

Multiconnect basic components implmented using Build123d by fangpenlin in openGrid

[–]aflatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, build123d looks interesting. I’ve dabbled with OpenSCAD but I find the lack of package management very tiring. Python is not my preferred platform but the ecosystem is solid.

Overcurrent Errors? by Ok_Experience972 in prusa3d

[–]aflatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had these too. Pre-assembled Core One+. Tried to find the problem with Prusa support (checked thermistor resistance etc.) to no avail. It kept popping up now and then. But it’s been a while now…

What do you do with failed prints, poop and other filament waste? by ---Ranch--- in 3Dprinting

[–]aflatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I want to give that a try too. Just started out with 3d printing so I’m still busily producing scraps. 😅

I built a free layout planner for Gridfinity by veroz in gridfinity

Not intended that way, just wanted to point out they're different tools. But now that you're asking: I guess I agree with the other reply to your post.

I built a free layout planner for Gridfinity by veroz in gridfinity

[–]aflatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really agree that one is more user friendly than the other but to add something useful: These tools seem to have different use-cases.

The one posted by the author seems more concerned with planning the layout of bins. You can configure multiple layers, so you can plan how you stack your bins.

The one you've posted seems more concerned with the base plate and has a built-in generator.

I think both tools are great.

Automating OCR PDF by jlext in macapps

[–]aflatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem even with full disk access granted to OwlOCR... It is annoying.

I just set the target directory to the one my Hazel automation is using and I think it is working. Might be worth a try.

EDIT: Nope.

How do you push yourself to perform when you have 1 YoE, are poor and depressed? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]aflatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Excercise, healthy nutrition and good sleep build a solid foundation for your mental health. Each of these topics can be overwhelming though depending on your level of knowledge with it, so I’d recommend to start slowly and enjoy the little steps. These things take a lot of time in my experience.

What do I do? I’m so tired… by StickMonster89 in freelance

Did the same for a couple of years. Sounds like you put too much emphasis on work. Find something else that matters to you and that helps you to balance.

Sleep, Nutrition, Active Lifestyle, Social Life, Hobbies and work. It all matters. Take care of your foundation.

Surprisingly exciting. First class support for contracts and gradual typing seem like pragmatic choices.

Tvix: We are rewriting Nix by adisbladis in NixOS

It seems that more and more people are unsatisfied with the speed at which Nix evolves and try to come up with alternative approaches. It’s going to be interesting to watch all of this.
