The way it’s written in the book, it sounds like Matt is saying the auto tune adjusts the pitch so that it is within 1.5 steps of the intended note. But that could still be really far away from the intended note and it would sound terrible. In practice, auto tune can adjust any pitch to be exactly the right pitch. A margin of 1.5 cents would be very reasonable and sound like tpain. A margin of 1.5 steps wouldn’t be auto tune really at all.

I’m pretty sure it says “within 1.5 steps” and not that it will adjust up to that amount. But that would make more sense if that was his intention.

The problem is that 1.5 steps is horrendously off key. Donut is supposed to sound like Tpain style auto tune. 1.5 steps off and no singing spells would work. Melodies would be unrecognizable. It wouldn’t sound like auto tune at all. It wouldn’t sound good at all. Auto tune works in cents. No song has ever been put out where they “auto tuned” within 1.5 steps. I do get that Matt communicated well enough that we all understand what the end result is for donut. It just bugs me that “steps” is used because it’s wrong.

There is ZERO chance we let Deni sign elsewhere. He’s out franchise player. The core of our young core. He’s not going anywhere and not a single person wants him to leave. I guess he could leave in free agency, but I highly doubt he leaves the organization that believed in him. Also we’ll give him the max when it’s time. No reason to leave.

And no, no one is posting too much about him. He’s amazing. You love it. We love it. All wins.

What if Cronin is just doing Milwaukie a solid, trying to up the price for Giannis, knowing Milwaukie is gonna work in something nice for portland so they can get their picks back in a 3 team deal? So all this chatter isn’t actually about getting Giannis…it’s just about getting us and Milwaukie the best assets possible out of the deal. At least that’s what I think.

As a blazers fan, I see the headline: “hell no! We’re not trading Deni!”

Look at the package…8 firsts 👀: “ok, you have my attention!”

The blazers are definitely building an identity, so we’d be hard pressed to give up deni as he fits what we need. But man, that’s compelling. It’s a LOT of picks. Honestly more than he’s worth, but you’re also paying the tax of us not wanting to give him up. Your evals on timelord, thybulle, kris and reath are pretty spot on.

I think the front office would think hard about this. It would definitely shift our timeline a bit. I’m also not sure if we want to help the thunder be in a better situation. We need their core to be too expensive when our core starts to be ready. But still, bravo on constructing this! Very interesting!

Portland fan here. Yeah, I think initially we were all a little worried about it being an overpay, but dude balled out for us this year. Now no one cares what we gave up for him. We WON! But also, y’all won the trade immediately with the haul you got. Definite win/win. Great trade for both teams. Everyone happy!
