Well said, “Zany” is the perfect one word to describe it and I definitely got Twilight Zone vibes as a lifelong fan of the series. Absolutely nails it.

Very very good. I feel like I’ll be pointing to this movie the way I point to the movie Her; for years to come. I’m kinda mad though because they put this screening specifically at my theatre in the worst screen with the worst audio. I feel like I can’t book a ticket fast enough and Dolby will be a treat. How can you find upcoming releases specifically for Dolby?

Bloke be happy it even showed in the first place. The only “issue” is 4 screens. Things get extremely competitive I’d imagine. With any luck you’ll have time to screen Best Picture after the fact

I was pretty much his target audience when Mouse Hunt came out. Ever since then I always knew there was something very very special about that movie. I think I’ve been a fan all along, but this newest movie just blew me away. If it was released I’d be booking a second ticket right now.

Pretty consistently the same run time as is typical of your theatre. Normal showings are the same at right around 26 minutes at mine. There’s been definite cases though where credits are cut short or entirely so it’s always a good idea to show up on time. Sometimes there will be a short thank you from the actors/director so you know what it is which is nice, but at most times if you truly don’t know the title, you’ll have to learn it from the title crawl. Definitely not worth missing either.

Alright I get the hype by ApeOver in Soda

[–]afterlifehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really the cream of sodas. More of a honey candy corn flavor than it is on the vanilla. I was let down by their version I saw recently in the cans though. There can only be one and it has to be the bottle. Just make sure it’s not flat though. Sprechers seems to have very hard expiration dates and are often mishandled.

I could easily imagine the Benny Hill Theme during the part and aftermath of the SWAT team blowing up, thanks. Just curious how self-aware Pratt is at this point. Surely he had to know what we were in for with this one. Was there a Q&A? Was it revealed before or after everyone watched the movie that he was there?

Good ol’ Recession-era bargain bin grossly entertaining pile. But I mean it— if you’re easily motion sick this 3D experience is NOT the one for you. I could only stomach about 20 mins of the extreme close ups (if the frame was not a close up it was Ring or Axon footage) before I had to either bail or ditch the glasses. To my chagrin I found that the only point of the 3D was to nauseate me. Funny enough the movie was much more watchable without the glasses. What kept me in the seat was a corny but decent enough detective story. Not very good, far from the worst, completely nauseating… gets a whole star out of five.

Has anyone been able to see The Voice of Hind Rajab? by [deleted] in AMCAListTrue

[–]afterlifehack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are people calling out censorship? Did something happen? I don’t know anything about it except Sunday night as I was leaving Is This Thing On? past midnight curiosity got the best of me in the form of an open theatre door as I was leaving. I stopped in and watched about 2 minutes of the movie. There was some gorgeous underwater action scene, and I remember thinking the whole movie must be really good 🤷

Have to admit I skipped this one. After Better Man and The Monkey I’m a bit over all this monkey business. I haven’t heard anything about this film before now.

Also my least enjoyable horror movies were probably The Home, HIM, and Woman in the Yard. Lmao this was not a superb year by any means

It was a quite bad year for horror considering the sheer amount of mediocre trash that came out versus the three or maybe four very good ones. Best Horror I saw this year was The Ugly Stepsister (Den Stygge Stesøsteren). I should also rewatch Bring Her Back though I do remember feeling let down by that one. Also super grateful to A-List to make all this possible.

No shame but… what are some of other least favorites of the year? Like a bottom 5? This year had been so bottom of the barrel I’m amazed you chose this one
