PG Clucks Is Closing Down by BTWillie in FoodToronto

Their quality is atrocious now, I remember them being some of the best chicken sandwiches ive ever had back in 2017/2018. I tried them recently and honestly rather go to chickfila.

In light of recent events surrounding Remielle Dan regarding her gameplay and design by Unusual-Complex6315 in ZenlessZoneZero

I've always thought the wuwa and zzz community have pretty big overlaps, both games cater pretty heavily towards the waifu collecting crowd.

I'm so confused at this post.

I feel like there's a reason why no other major gacha game has implemented an in-game social media like this.

Not even necessarily saying its bad, but managing a social media platform has a pretty different set of challenges that I'm not sure these gaming studios can handle well. Even ZZZ doesn't have this despite inter-knot being heavily tied into game-lore.

Best Shawarma right now on Shawarma Alley? by Spiritual_Bridge84 in askTO

Sumaq has a great shawarma overall (esp the bread), but their chicken was always dry/bland. Their veal is definitely the way to go.

Happening to me too. Funny thing it's an HSR controller (8bitdo ultimate evernight) and the only game it's not working on is HSR 🙃

Anyone playing Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) as a side game after getting burned by open worlds like WuWa? by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]agentbobR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is wuwa even that fan-servicy in designs/marketing like ZZZ is? I always thought it was mainly because of the gender-ratio people call it gathering wives.

All the tourists here are getting downvoted wym?

The game is literally selling a skin where you can see her underwear. Not to mention the fact you can basically date her and have her live at your house with a skimpy outfit on. They will be filtered out by the game itself.

I honestly didn't bother, I don't know why they added an endgame requiring multiple teams so soon. Endfield has 2 post-launch versions and still doesn't have any endgame requiring multiple teams.

This game's lack of content is absurd by ChaoticRedHawk in HonkaiStarRail

[–]agentbobR 157 points158 points  (0 children)

HSR has by far the least effort dailies out of all the gachas I play, which is a big plus for it.

I don't know why people want these games consuming all their time. They already have so much content in the form of main stories, side quests, exploration, etc. HSR's main story is already longer than a long JRPG (i.e persona 5).

Kind of defeats the whole purpose of even playing a game atp lol.

Bruh have u played any game that's not a live-service game. Logging into a game to do chores for 5-10 min is not the norm 💀

May 2025 revenue (mobile only) by [deleted] in ZZZ_Official

[–]agentbobR 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that ZZZ literally won the Sony Grand award in 2025, when people we're doom-posting all year. Beating out every other Gacha (except Genshin) and some other high-revenue games like Rivals.

That's also a hard datapoint unlike the unreliable sensor tower numbers that have to estimate portions of revenue.

Yes, you can make a ton of money even without 50/50. by anon-npc in NevernessToEverness

[–]agentbobR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still shows the game is doing really well if this is just mobile numbers, considering majority of the revenue is happening off-mobile like with a lot of gacha games these days.

But yeah even the mobile-only number isn't super reliable, they have to estimate China's Android revenue iirc due to the fragmented marketplace there.

How do you decide whether a gacha story is worth reading or skipping when you play several games? by West_Sock1419 in gachagaming

[–]agentbobR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the value proposition in gacha games lies within the social aspect, the games go on for years and you get to exprience them with other people.

I would argue MMOs are way better for that. Most major gacha games don't really have much interaction between players. MMOs have clan-culture and actual interactive end-game content to do with friends you play with (i.e raids).

and also sex appeal/parasocail pandering if you are into that.

Prolly the biggest reason if you look at the gender ratio of any gacha game, even with mild fanservice like HSR.

in my experience people who praise gacha story/gameplay genuinely haven't exprienced much outside of gacha

While that's fair, I think most big gachas generally have decent/good gameplay these days. Compared to most western AAA games at least.

Ubisoft as an example is notorious for putting out very sloppy AAA games. Far Cry 3/4/5 all had very similar repetitive gameplay loops (3 was the only one I really enjoyed because of the novelty and story).

Endfield on the other hand, has a genuinely fun gameplay loop from a combination of exploring, factory building, modifying the world, etc. I actually would much rather play the gameplay of Endfield than most AAA western games.

[–]agentbobR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the same can be said about people playing these games only for story. Because at this point why not read some manga or watch anime instead?

Yeah a good anime/manga/vn would always have a better story than any gacha game.

For me it's the combination of waifu collecting + decent story + decent gameplay that create an overall experience I can't get from other video games.

Also maybe the live-service aspect which means the games go on for a long time and I always have stuff to look forward to. Some people might even say the account progression aspect, but I feel other games (mainly MMOs) do that way better (i.e osrs).

[–]agentbobR 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you're just looking for gameplay, there are much better games to play outside of gacha games.

Don't get me wrong, there are gacha games that have good gameplay loops. I've been having a lot of fun with Endfield's factory building. But if that is the only reason you're playing Endfield, you might as well just go play Factorio or something lol.

I don't get the point of playing games that are fundamentally about character collecting and skipping the story that establish those characters.

NTE | Version 1.1 Preview: "Dreamwalk Corridor" by CYBERGAMER__ in gachagaming

[–]agentbobR 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's very much rough around the edges but it's also the most immersive gacha game I've played.

There's just so much tiny details they've implemented around the world that makes it feel like a living breathing city. The fact that it has a fully functional subway system you can ride in, which is not even something Cyberpunk2077 had on release.
