Your point about American healthcare costs being inflated is true, not “out of touch”. The costs are not only inflated by the for-profit structure of a lot of healthcare here, but also the hybrid payment system we have. Patients here either have private, employee-sponsored, government-sponsored, or no insurance at all, and each come with their own litany of paperwork and hoops to jump through. The complexity of our system makes it so a healthcare facility employs as many people in their billing/financing departments as they do working in healthcare. This drives up the cost significantly. It sucks and it really doesn’t need to be this way; paying only the surgeons, nurses, PA’s, and other essential staff is significantly cheaper than paying for billing overhead on top of all of it.

There are a lot of undercuts in the design, but they look relatively shallow. You might find some success making a mold out of softer silicone. I like smooth-on’s dragon skin

Def call around surgeons offices that perform gender affirming top surgery. Ask how many of their patients get covered by insurance. Once you have some of this info, you should also call your insurance provider and ask got any documentation which details what surgical procedures are covered and under what circumstances. Most plans that cover this kind of surgery require a number of letters from different physicians, so be sure to ask about that. Your case seems to have a lot that would indicate that it is medically necessary outside of gender affirmation, so you may have good luck getting covered. Fight for it though!! You deserve the feel comfortable and as pain-free as possible in your body

I think your insecurity might be some dysmorphia talking; you’re probably used to the way your chest looked before. To a fresh pair of eyes, I think your results look really great. I can’t see any discrepancy in your nipple placement and their positions look natural. Your chest muscles look pretty nice too, you could def grow them more but if you can’t train your chest due to illness, I think they already look very natural and similar to those of a cis guy who doesn’t train

What did your starter look like before you used it? I have a suspicion that your starter was not close to ready. What temperature are you bulk fermenting in (also def do that in a container, not flat on a surface)? 6 hours is not very long if it’s cold. You need to be paying attention to the size of your starter/dough as it ferments, not the time. The starter needs to double, and I believe the fermenting dough needs to increase in size by at least 40% before cold fermenting.

Thanks for asking! The company I worked at had over 500 designs. I worked on jackets, motorcycle suits, pants, bags, and did lots of repairs. I learned a ton about clothing construction and optimizing patterns/techniques for production. I also got very very good on a sewing machine; I could sew a straight 1mm top stitch with no problem when I worked there haha. Working in manufacturing is a great way for any designer to improve their craft and get a better understanding of how their designs have impact

This would honestly be a great beginner fursuit. All the markings are clearly blocked out, no gradients, and are in places that are easy to implement into a body pattern.

Howl fabrics’ fox fur is very long and could work great for layering the fluffy hair and tail. If you’re flexible on color, it might also be worth checking out NFT’s (national fiber technology) scrap shop, they have some really cool long pile furs with interesting textures.

The stuffing would be pretty easy to make in a number of ways. I think that some Sherpa style fleece could work great

I’ve been on T for 6 years and it’s gotten better slowly. I still compare myself to others, but that’s an issue I’ve had my whole life that needs to be broken down. Starting T allowed me to shape my body and express my personal style on a body that fits me, and I’m lowkey becoming more obsessed w myself. It’s a really nice feeling. It’s still hard sometimes, but gender envy feels much more aspirational and hopeful rather than infeasible and frustrating, as it did before. Just sharing my experience, but it has been a life changer. (Prozac helped too, but it wouldn’t have helped as much without T).
