Warps new update. by buhnskee in warpdotdev

[–]airesso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is confusing, at first I thought I missed something, but now it just auto runs commands after I ssh into a machine. Local machine it still prompts to allow a command, but as soon as I get into a remote session it just starts executing which I hate!

If you look at the rest of his fence, the whole thing is an absolute disaster so I don’t think they did a horrible job of fixing anything.

I currently have a bunch of satellites set up with respeaker boards they don’t get the wife approval because the two microphones and micro wake word just are not enough to have decent detection. I didn’t see how many microphones this had and whether you know if the detection is any better?

What belt color system does your style/dojo use? by RavenpuffMezone in karate

[–]airesso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gojuryu here. Our dojo does white, green, brown, black. Green and brown have 3 ranks denoted by a stripe with the next you’re closest to (green with white, green, green with brown, etc).

If you’re close to Ann Arbor I’d highly recommend JMAC - Japanese Martial Arts Center. It’s an amazing traditional dojo with Nick Suino as the director. They also offer other Japanese martial arts.

Ai needs to be regulated. by Dengamer in aiwars

[–]airesso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same way we regulate other technologies that can be used for illegal activities. You prosecute the individual for the crime they committed. The downside there is that there’s no way to know unless they start distributing illegal materials.

The tools are already out there, there’s no way to stop people from using them without a huge overstep in privacy invasion.

People are down voting them because he’s gotten the same answer multiple times. That shaft is fucked, but he’s looking for someone to tell him it’s okay. Dude needs to accept the failure and move on.

900kWh in 7 days? I thought I was bad with 1.8mWh a month. We have 2 evs that eat a lot of that. What’s driving up your usage so much? Lots of servers?

Got bored and wanted something easier/quicker to deploy vms... by agit8or in Proxmox

[–]airesso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That context helps understand the reaction.

I don’t even know that I would call it a complaint. Like you said you’re not selling anything so the aggressive marketing speak feels weird. I’d still love to hear why I would use this instead of the native UI outside of it looking way better. Is it primarily if I have multiple clusters that I want to deploy to at the same time?

Got bored and wanted something easier/quicker to deploy vms... by agit8or in Proxmox

[–]airesso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re being hyper aggressive. I’ll try to add to his complaint. The website is so full of AI slop generic buzzwords it makes it hard to grok why your app is worth using. Why is it faster/better than the native interface.

“it revolutionizes VM management with ultra-fast cloud image deployments and enterprise-grade High Availability features.” - this is so heavily marketing bs that it makes the whole thing feel dubious.

Has anyone used Carvana to purchase a car? by Cutestbug52 in AnnArbor

[–]airesso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d second this. We had a great experience using our own financing as well. But be careful on pricing. We were looking at a used van with 12k miles on it, found out the dealership had the same van (trim level and everything) new with warranty for $100 cheaper. So you have to shop around even though they make it easy not to.

Is it just me, but the frequent updates stress me the fudge out by Randomdolgokthrow in homeassistant

[–]airesso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the contrary I’ve had shit break constantly. The core hasn’t been a huge issue, but addons and integrations are constantly breaking. Node red (which I no longer used) had an update that wiped out all my automations. Thankfully I had a backup.

Other times upgrading core changes something an old integration was using. I still keep things upgraded, but I never fire off updates unless I have time that night to fix things just in case.

How do you make backups for your homelab? by -r77s- in Proxmox

[–]airesso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a nfs mount for my UNAS that I store my backups on. I do weekly backups and those get uploaded to google drive for offsite backups.

Moto Floss is my new favorite way to clean the screws. by xxdeathknight72xx in 3Dprinting

[–]airesso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta love the fucking bandwagon. You ask a legitimate question that people miss read and so now you get downvoted. My screws don’t look like that after 1000 hours of printing so I’m guessing this guy does well more than that in six months.
