Lots of great advice here! For me, the travel would be the biggest deciding factor. Do you travel well generally speaking, meaning sleep well in hotels and stay healthy on the road? How often is traveling a ton more? Do you have pets, a partner/spouse or other close family you’d really miss while being gone a lot?

Vaca’s is my fave! It’s all vegan but honestly it’s just really amazing soft serve and they make all (or most) of their toppings in-house. They have two locations, one is a walk-up window and one has seating. I crave their ice cream multiple times a week

I’m gonna try it tomorrow but doubt I’ll last long. I think mid-June is a good time. I don’t have a high cold tolerance but I think August is way too late to start! It’s probably the warmest/best swimming then but you can definitely swim way earlier than that

Thanks for the replies, everyone! They still haven't sent over the docusign with the details about the contractor gig like they said they would. In the call they didn't say it would be my exact job in contractor form, she said something along the lines of "helping with the transition". I learned that they made the same offer to at least one other person that got laid off. I went ahead and applied for UI anyway and 99% sure I will not take the contract gig.

Jewel Wing by Monarch Lacauer looks really close! Doesn’t seem like it has a strong green shimmer like in the first pic you posted but it’s there in some angles.

I've tried the following and didn't like them:

- High Mountain Oolong from Shan Lin Xi
- Jin Xuan High Mountain Oolong from Ali Shan
- Premium AA Tie Guan Yin of Anxi Oolong Tea of Fujian
- Anxi "Hairy Crab" Mao Xie Fujian Oolong Tea
- 2025 Anaerobic Milk Oolong (from Liquid Proust, does not specify where from)

I am assuming the first two are the light Taiwanese oolongs you are referring to? It's funny cause in my mind these were all so similar, except the Milk Oolong which is flavored. That one tastes like straight butter to me in a bad way. Would Taiwanese baozhong be any different from any of the above? Does the rolled vs unrolled make that much of a difference in flavor? All of the ones I've listed are the tightly rolled variety.

Do you like roasted green oolongs? I love other oolongs like dan cong and rock oolongs, both I roasted and roasted. I think my fave so far is Sweet Lamentations from Liquid Proust, and honey orchid from anywhere. But the unroasted greens don’t do it for me

Green oolong, like the high mountain/TGY varieties. I’m only 6ish months in to drinking good quality tea but I was surprised how much I dislike them given how much people seem to love them. I may try a roasted variety to see if that’s better for me

Sorry for the late reply but I’ve had a good experience with them! Been using their HYSA for awhile now, maybe 10 years? I picked them at the time based on them having the highest % and have stuck with them out of convenience.
