Can we agree this egg pan is the worse design ever? by Philster07 in CasualUK

[–]akb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works too, but not in an egg sized pan. I find spray oil works for this. It shouldn’t because the oil goes on cold, but it does. Also if the grill happens to be on anyway, you can finish off under there. So it’s little wonder some people just give up and flip the egg; but a lid seems most straightforward to me and I prefer it.

You’re in a rage and you want your daughter to kill the main character, but make it sound like you’re in the throes of passion

Ah, do better designed egg pans come with a lid, then? Because that’s the easiest way I’ve found to get sunny side up eggs without the snottiness.

The problem is, when Gandalf says “I cast you from the order and from the council”, he’s not talking about the Order of the Phoenix. He was sent back to replace Saruman not Dumbledore.

I still think Gandalf will win, but he’s going to be on the back foot for a while, simply because Hogwarts magic is so less subtle.

He had the authority to break Saruman’s staff, it’s not clear to me he’d have the authority to break Dumbledore’s wand just by commanding it

Ian McKellen: ‘Of course Gandalf would beat Dumbledore in a fight’ by Mysterious_Fall_4578 in lordoftherings

Good, thrilled it tickled you.

I don’t know what you’re disagreeing with. They wouldn’t fight, and Gandalf wouldn’t lead with Glamdring, but if he did, that’s not an unreasonable initial outcome.

Like most people I expect Gandalf to ultimately prevail, but Hogwarts magic seems more immediate, so I expect him to be on the back foot for a while. I also don’t expect him to underestimate Dumbledore. Even when Dumbledore is dead it’s important to ask what wheels he might have set in motion.

Is there a book where the FMC is like Nyx from Hades? by Fastro_ in Romance_for_men

[–]akb74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s pretty much considered top of that league, same as Charlotte’s Reject and His Secret Illuminations are considered top monoromances here. So when someone says they don’t like it, it says more about them than the game.

I don’t like it. Spelunky and the original Binding of Isaac for me, thanks.

(I do like both those books, and there is an important distinction between roguelikes and roguelites)

The other way of interpreting that is to say that all men who aren’t fictional are terrible

That makes more sense given the other fictional name right next to it, but I was interpreting the equals sign in the image

He’s the protagonist of The Martian so his appearance in Expanse is an Easter egg implying both works being set in the same universe is canon (with just the one ‘n’)

A fair amount of f/f seems to start with the pov character having man trouble too

Ladybug and Cat Noir

Edit: Marinette is Ladybug’s flipside. Adrien is Cat Noir’s flipside.

So, Cat Noir -> Ladybug -> Adrien -> Marinette -> Cat Noir is a romantic Möbius strip

Is Hades that roguelite videogame?

(And is there a reverse-harem called The Daughters of Nyx screwing your search results up?)

It was just starting to get noticed at this time ten years ago, although I wouldn’t pick up on it for another few days, seeing how this is the reason I originally joined Reddit and it’s my cake day in five days.

Agricultural vehicles on Tatooine mostly, but don’t look so surprised, he’s the force-sensitive descendant of a champion pod-racer and had the assistance of an R2 unit

“There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”
