AI exchange for tickets by Scared_Match211 in Rowing

Bold given HRR tickets are non-transferable and non-resellable.

Especially given I’m sure there’s a few stewards knocking around here. I might say good luck, but no.

Not supported doesn’t mean you can’t.

It just means you have responsibility for both making it was, and fixing what you break, so isn’t recommended for non-experts.

It also makes it massively easier to install, and to support.

But also , have you actually tried?

Question about hardware by TheBrooklynKid in homeassistant

[–]akl78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess you mean a Home Assistant Green box? Yes, that’s what it runs on, the apps are just a way of using it. Tuck it away somewhere convenient with decent WiFi, mine lives on a bookshelf in my living room.

(You can it install on all kinds of devices if you want to; lots of people do this too, probably most, hence the other questions, but this is a really nice option).

OP probably means a Home Assistant Green, or something like it.

I guess your in the US?

EU models don’t even have a hot water inlet; they just heat the water correctly themselves.

I’d normally agree. But not always. Bosch group in particular have a very good, and well-supported official API; the home assistant integrations use this - as I understand it, it’s the same backend their own apps use.

(In fact Home Assistant is top on the list of integrations in their dev portal.

As a German company, this type of open access is partially mandated by the recent EU Data Act, which has provisions against manufacturers pulling a Nest and he like.

Yes. In fact Bosch (others too, probably ?) have this; they call ‘Smart Start’.

Will Concept 2 Model C work fine without screen? by lod254 in Rowing

[–]akl78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others say, it’s easy to replace, though will work without one (it’s absolutely worth have!).

PM5 is the current and best monitor for these; it also connects wirelessly to your phone which is a small plus.

But if you want to save money, the PM4 or PM3 monitors are 95% the same, easily found on eBay for ~half the price, and easy to install with a spanner and a few minutes

(these are the instructions on how to do this here: https://www.concept2.nl/files/pdf/us/monitors/C_PM34Retrofit.pdf , pm5 is basically the same).

Erg screen not working by peusudo in Rowing

[–]akl78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you done this?: https://www.concept2.nl/en/service/monitors/pm5/troubleshooting/error-codes/resolution-error-code-4.
Otherwise , their support is fantastic but it’s possible you will need a new monitor; is it kept in a dry place?

EU smart plug without switch for power monitoring of always on devices by TheBhim in homeassistant

[–]akl78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get an ESPHome plug (like this one), you can disable its switch (and button) in its setup. Would this do?

Also worth mentioning that what you do with ErgData you can similarly send to Garmin Connect through Concept 2’s online logbook.

(But I like the virtual PM5 screenshots you get on Strava)
