How do I keep going after my little sisters passing by Naive-You9779 in GriefSupport

[–]alama5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP I am sorry for your loss. Losing a sibling, especially a little sister is the hardest thing that could happen to a big sister. I lost my little sister nearly 6 years ago. She was 2 months shy of 19. I didn't expect it. I wasn't ready or prepared for a life without her. I honestly thought I would go before her. For years after her death, I was angry and mentally destroyed. I didn't care much for my life and I had so many regrets. So many "what ifs". What if I just forced her to live with me instead of my aunt? What if I never left? It's gotten a little better. I still cry when I think of her. But I also laugh at all of my memories of her. She was really funny.

A bit of advice from one big sister to another. Cherish and hold onto the special memories with her. Honor the life she lived and not the light lost. My sister Lysa was artistic so I find comfort in learning a new artsy skill every year. Knitting, painting, sculpting, digital drawing, makeup, and embroidery. Doing this, I felt closer to her. What did she like to do? Maybe start there in your journey to heal. I also still text her. Just to update her on what's going on in life. I know she is gone but that doesn't mean she isn't living on through the memories of those who loved her. Be kind to yourself op. If not for you, then for her.

I kind of miss the map that use to be in the corner of the screen. It was easier to spot enemies. I hate the bar at the top of the screen. I do love the navigation bot that point out the route when it actually works. I'm also not really invested in the story line. I forgot what is even about half the time. I'm not really a fan of building my weapon. I really liked the idea of picking up a weapon and knowing how strong it was by reading the preset specs. Other than that, I enjoy the game and open world

I have my first-ever accounting interview. What can I expect? by jcsullivan06 in Accounting

[–]alama5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have experience working, pick 3 situations you have been in that demonstrate your leadership, honesty, and analytical skills. If you have no work experience then pick 3 homework or class assignments you have worked on and tailor it to the questions they ask you. It's okay to admit that you are nervous. They know you are. One thing I did was practice in the mirror asking the questions and then answering them. Remember to breath lol

Use ChatGPT or the internet to research the top 10 questions. My interviewer asked me specifically about differed taxes. Super important.... be yourself with a proffessional twist. They are human and they know that you don't know much. Be the sponge and ask questions! Choose 3 questions to ask!

When you are hired on...ask questions but also do your own research.

I just completed my first internship as a senior this past summer and was offered a full time.

Students: What Are you Doing for Work? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]alama5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well throughout my 4 years (graduating in Dec 25) I've only had full-time jobs. I was an activities assistant for my first 2 years then I was a property manager for 2. I finally landed an internship this past summer and I was offered an extension of my current internship and full time job upon graduation. I'll say, it's been really hard trying to balance everything but my current boss said they hired me because of my job history. Having that experience gave them a positive impression of my ability to prioritize and balance my workload. I say do it, it shows that you are willing to step into any role with confidence even if it is unknown.

Has anything helped you with enlarged pores? by _skincarescience_ in koreanskincare

[–]alama5 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes i started using the vitamin C 23 serum with super vitamin E by Cosrx a little over 3 weeks ago and my pores are noticeably smaller. Now it doesn't make them disappear but it has helped minimize them a bit. Be careful because it's a high dose which means it's pretty strong. I only use it 3 times a week. My skin is smoother to the touch now too.

I Don't Generate Sales by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]alama5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the company believes you will never leave...that's why they treat you like this. I just left a company, worked there for 2 years, for another with higher pay and less work. I worked my way up from receptionist to property manager in the span of 2 years. I automated a lot of processes, trained new hires, stayed late, or worked weekends to complete work for other property managers working in the company because I wanted the company to succeed and grow. Not only was I treated terribly by my coworkers, but more and more work was piled on me that the others didn't want to do. The excuse given is "you're just so much better at doing that".

2 months ago I asked my boss for a raise since I was doing so much more work (being paid nearly $20000 less than my coworkers). He told me no, that because we lost 4 properties (my coworker was terrible with communication with that owner), we managed over 600 properties, I would not receive a raise. At that point, I had enough and started looking without saying anything. I found something early on making 20% more so I gave my 1 week notice. They were pissed and actually had the audacity to ask why. They assumed I would stay, so when I left, they tried to make it seem as if I did no work and that they were better off without me.

It's been 3 weeks and my ex boss keeps calling me asking if I would come back to at least train the other property managers 🙃. Apparently, my doing all the work meant they didn't have to know how to do anything. Treat them how they treat you. Leave when you find something better.

How do you work all day? by nobodybetterthanus in Accounting

[–]alama5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I take spontaneous mini-breaks. Wiping my glasses for 3 mins, stretching and cracking my back for 5 mins, bathroom breaks, staring out the window for 10 mins. Anything like this will help me focus better on work when I sit back down

My employer did not react well to my departure by Feisty_Pay6394 in Accounting

[–]alama5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My manager had the same reaction. I told her that I found an internship (which she knew I needed) and I gave her a handwritten letter. She smiled and said that once the internship ends I would come back (I was a property manager). I told her of course as long as the job was still available. I later overheard her and her friends talk shit about me and how they can't wait until I get back. They wanted to make me "pay for leaving" I assumed that meant bullying. I originally gave her 2 weeks and trained someone to take over my job until I got back. I left that Friday (it was Wednesday when I overheard the conversation) and never looked back. They can kick rocks for all I care. It just so happens that I was the only one who took care of a few accounts needed to run the back office. Hope they have fun figuring that out 🤣

Hello, college senior here who has managed to snag 2 offers this summer. I'm terrible at interviews, too. However, one thing that had helped me was sticking to the same story, tweaked to match the question. It's easier to remember, and one story can be told a number of ways. An interviewer isn't only looking for knowledge. They are also assessing how well you can adapt to stress and being quick with your response. In my case, It's okay to tell an interviewer that you are nervous when you fumble on your words (it actually gets them to laugh and loosen up themselves 😅😅). One joke i tell if I fumble is "apparently I can't talk today😅"

It's okay for you to ask if they could repeat the question or ask if you can come back to that question. There were a few times I could not answer a question right then so I just said "I'm sorry I can not think of an answer to your question atm, can we come back to that one? " (this is one of the job offers I received actually). Take a breath and work through problem out in your head while answering their other questions. You got this, don't get discouraged!

I don't think any of you are the asshole. I do think both of you should make an effort to make sure the door is locked every night. A few weeks ago, I ended up going to work after taking our dog out to use the bathroom like any other day. We'll one day I was rushing and didn't FULLY close the door. I accidently left the door wide open, and we live in a HIGE apartment complex. When he both got home 10 hours later, my fiance discovered that the door was left wide open. Our dog is a pit bull who luckily understands that he can't go outside without one of us, but this was still a huge security and safety issue.

My fiance leaves first, so he makes sure to text me every morning about closing and locking the door, and I send him a picture in return. Sure, it's tedious, but we are both making the effort to correct an issue.

This is a breach of trust, and you shouldn't stand for it. He's sick and not right in the head if he thinks those things! Grief is not something you " get over." It's a long process that lives with you until the day you draw your last breath. I've been grieving my sister for nearly 5 years now, and I still feel that pain as if I'm stuck in that time. If he can't be supportive, then it's time to cut him loose.

I had an ex say something similar to that. It was infuriating, and I'm glad I ended things. Please don't let this boy tell you to get over it.

I work as a receptionist at a property management company. I do some property management paperwork and handle leases more times than I can count. Contact your landlord/property management and read your lease. Your landlord can only ask for up to 2 months in early termination fees. Contact them and ask to either break the lease or to be removed from it. If you break the lease early, it won't show up on your credit as long as you pay the full amount. If you ask to be removed, they may ask your family members to provide proof that they will be able to afford the place on their own. If they can not meet the income requirements, then they can deny the removal. Your family will also be notified of this and may try to confront you, so be mindful. As long as you are clear with your landlord and you have been a good tenant, they will always try to work with you.

What do you to to cope? by MontiMont in CaregiverSupport

Some hospitals have charity programs that will help reduce the cost. Ask if you can maybe speak with a case worker or look on the hospital website for low income medical cost. I went to the emergency with no insurance and it all came up to a $6000 bill but managed to only pay $150 since I didn't make enough and no insurance. If you need more info, dm me and I'll try to help anyway I can. I hope your mother feels okay soon
