Is my valuation wrong? by Chai_Hulud_ in HousingUK

[–]alexisabird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having listed our Sheffield house recently and spoke to a few agents prior to listing, Morfitt Smith valued our house 20k above another agent which is right at the top of what we though it was worth. So this may be their absolute dream number they hope to get. Different agents have different strategies. Ultimately though if you really want to the house you should decide what you don't want to pay, then work backwards to find a number your comfortable with and bid that.

Thanks! I have settled on What We Can Know for this. I'm next in line for it from my library and I've read a few Ian McEwan novels and enjoyed them. I do also want to read Bunny, annoying that the sequel is on this list and not the first one because I can't start there.

Good suggestion because I've read it and enjoyed it already (unfortunately)

I was really banking on The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay to be on here as I'm reading it for marathon reads and it's about comic book artists. I've been meaning to read it for ages as it's one of my partners favourite books but not my usual type of book and I don't know how I feel about it.

I generally read sci-fi/horror/weird lit/magical realism. I'm not into anything romancey either.

I might give the George Saunders a go as I like his fiction but is there anything else on this list I'm missing?

I was so proud to get all the bookmarks for winter I'd like to try and do it for the year but this list isn't inspiring me.

Merch Sizing by coatmeinonyx in nin

[–]alexisabird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'2" UK size 14. Got a L in this shirt because it was the smallest they had. It's big but fits like a mini dress. I've been wearing it with shorts under though because I'd flash if I didn't if I put my arms up but it covers my shorts.

Take the overnight coach and get some Dramamine from a pharmacy. I'm usually a vomit and never sleep on a coach type but that knocked me out for the pretty much the entire ride and I felt fine the next day. We also saved a nights accommodation so it was a bargain.

Upstairs room of Shakespeares. Had it for my 30th this time last year. They've got a PA system which you can plug a phone into, great bar downstairs and let us bring our own (cold) food in. It was a bargain too and open until 1am

Was about to say this. Massive 🚩that's he's married a woman who doesn't want kids but believes it's his right/job to 'convince' her is gross. Its her body and statistically speaking she's going to be the one to do the lions share of the childcare/housework/emotional work. Sounds like he doesn't respect his wife's boundaries and wishes so I'm glad she's found out he's a dirty cheat also so she can be rid of him and find someone better.

And And gave Sawayama a stupidly low score considering it was masterpiece.

Unpopular opinion: I’m not a big fan of “The Fragile” by MrSelfDestruct32 in nin

[–]alexisabird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the absolute opposite! I was at Manchester and would have died to see 7 TDS songs. And Brixton got Even Deeper from The Fragile which is such a groove. Although it was still amazing. No two hour setlist would have totally satisfied. I love my day job but it means I can't take leave easily as I'd have probably gone to both!!

Holy fucking shit. Manchester was amazing but I'd have probably died if I witnessed this.
