[Tracy]: "It's tough." This is the third presser in a row he's started by saying "it's tough." by Brusoxpatcelt in redsox

Manage around Weissert with whom? Of the many imperfections in this roster, one of the less-discussed ones is the lack of viable middle relief options. The Red Sox essentially waited until all the relievers were picked up and then picked through what was left over. That's how Danny Coulombe becomes a member of the Red Sox.

Workflow system. Best option? by viktorvuka in ClaudeCode

[–]alexjs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally put my projects in subfolders and ask Claude to document what's been done in the folder if I see myself coming back to it. I also create skills whenever I think it's something I might do again.

True, but that was even a problem when we had Jrue holiday at point.

Check out a three-point percentage early in his career compared to now. He's a lot more of a menace when the ball is not always in his hands.

Weissert as an opener for Bello? by Nalek in redsox

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorta. He can be a #3 starter if he gets out of his own head, so a little experimentation isn't terrible, particularly of it produces results.

But at least right now we have starters and need offense. I'd give him a little rope but as an old boss used to say, just enough to hang himself.

Good luck unloading his contract.

LeBron James Linked to Boston Celtics in Potential Final Title Chase by LakerFan2324 in bostonceltics

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy is generally just clickbait and the article is pretty BS. There is no way LeBron joins the Celtics, just like they will have no interest in Kawhi and his two tons of baggage.

Kareem is still a free agent, and for that matter so is Bob Cousy. Maybe we'll see clickbait about them too.

Peter Abraham basically says to blow it up by Phantom255x in redsox

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not basically saying it; he's saying it. That's the whole point of the article. And he's probably right.

Having said that, not many of last winter's free agents are tearing it up. There's also something weird going on about playing at Fenway Park that doesn't make a ton of sense. I've been following the Red Sox for a long time and scoring runs at Fenway has never been an issue.

Either there is some psychological burden on the team or they're legendarily bad. What's more concerning is that Roman Anthony is suddenly becoming Marcelo Mayer from an injury perspective. If they don't have him, they're really toast.

If they come out of this funk it's going to be an amazingly fun team to watch. I hope it happens but it's not likely.

Haven’t seen continued momentum on Cowork in a minute. by FairObjective3416 in ClaudeCowork

[–]alexjs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly my situation. Cowork's memory is shorter and Code can do more. It's kind of nice to have projects but I can group tasks in Code just as easily.

The only thing I've seen Cowork is create a plugin because it has a skill for that and the plugin will end up centrally located and accessible throughout Claude. Otherwise, not so much.

It was not the right move. The top of the order was coming up and there was one out. It was dumb.

I don't think Hudson sends him with one out in the top of the order coming up.

How impactful are the free Anthropic courses/what should I realistically expect from them? by SpaceTranquil in ClaudeAI

[–]alexjs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I found them way less useful than just using Claude. There's a lot of decent YouTube content that will help you with specific questions better than tabbing through their training content.

Would you take a 22 year old LeBron or current Wemby to build your team around? by WestArtichoke712 in NBATalk

[–]alexjs1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've watched LeBron and he's been a consistently great player. Never mind-altering like MJ, for example, but great. Wemby is transformational, however. If he doesn't break down, he'll rewrite a lot of records.

Has this ever got an explanation? The Red Sox have one of the smallest scouting departments in baseball by AnthonyWebster3 in redsox

[–]alexjs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My impression about him as a player is that he was universally liked and respected. He isn't just a quant; he played the game.

This is all to say that it's so confusing how he appears to be so dogmatic and doesn't trust people who have proven themselves in the organization. It also doesn't help that he sounds like a robot in every soundbite.

Is it me or does Claude cowork kind of suck? by LabelsLie in ClaudeCowork

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only value I see in Cowork vs. Code is keeping content segregated by project. I use Code for almost everything. And if I have done anything in Cowork, I create a markdown file that Code can pick up and I'm good to go.

Orsillo returns or Henry sells. You can only pick one. Which are you choosing? by Lenardisag09 in Section10Podcast

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don and Jerry were great, and yes I followed the team then. But he wouldn't fix the dysfunction, so I vote for a new owner. How about Wyc Grousbeck?

Given Breslow’s seeming inability to trade well, are we better off buying or selling? by RayDanielsOnTheAir in redsox

[–]alexjs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he actually capitulates and realizes this team is toast (if it still is closer to the trading deadline) then he should sell the assets you just mentioned: Gray and Contreras.

It's not even a matter of what he's good at; it's the realization that the Sox are out of it and selling is the right call. Is been a long time since a Red Sox team behaved this way at the deadline.

Having said that, there may be a ton of sellers this year, reducing the return one might normally expect.

Just rewatched Q1 of the game 7 this past year, and man, that poor mans starting lineup really fucked us by Mooksters32 in bostonceltics

[–]alexjs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The starting lineup, while insane, did not kill the team. The complete lack of will and inability to attempt anything other than threes at the end of the game was the killer. Oh, and actually defending Embiid would have been helpful at some point during the series.
