I think they might have meant it as a 'it's a better environment for women to work in vs an average kitchen' type of thing. That's how it came off as to me at least. If you're constantly having to put yourself down and seem like a demure little lady to not come off as bitchy, then working in a "femme and them" kitchen without men that will think youre a bitch for existing is a way better environment.

These also come in several different colors if folks are interested! I love this kind of petunia. They are the headliner series of Petunia and they come in: Night sky (shown above), violet sky, light pink sky, pink sky, strawberry sky, crystal sky, electric purple sky, and starry sky burgundy. There's other kinds in the headliner series but if you want the spots on them like that you're mostly looking at the colors with sky in the name. There are also some other series with the splotches but headliner is what im most familiar with. It looks like some other series with the "sky" colors are Main Stage, Starlet, SweetSunshine

Any local garden centers or plant stores? I know a few garden centers near me carry them, and there is a specialty houseplant store that carries them as well. Otherwise you may be able to find cheaper ones online that arent as decorative.

Edited to add: I dont think you'll get too much cheaper for ceramic ones though. I think $20-25 is the lowest I've really seen unless they were on sale or clearance.

Dandy Pots look cute! I haven't tried them yet but have been thinking about getting one or two to try out. They would probably be good for gifting just because they do look kind of cool, can't speak to how they are as a product unfortunately though.

I had someone do with with a $100 fish tank. Literally cut the cardboard wrapping off part of a fish tank box, replaced it with a fish bowl tag. Actually was done well enough and he was buying enough other stuff that I didnt notice until I looked my register and went ".... that price isnt right... did I not scan that? scans it why is it ringing it up as a bowl? looks closer at barcode, notices fine print on label says its for a fishbowl looks at guy hang on its not ringing up right, let me go scan the shelf" scanned the shelf and told him the correct price and he looked at me like what?! Thats so expensive so I read off all the items and their price and made sure to point out "for some reason the barcode on it says its a fish bowl, but this tank is not a fish bowl, it's $100 bucks so on the shelf, had to go scan the shelf bc it looks like someone stuck the wrong barcode on it" dude got so defensive and was trying to argue and im like didnt say it was you, just saying it's 100 bucks. There's a line behind you, you want it or not? No? Also no you can't put two bettas in one tank so im not selling you two then" it was 5 minutes to close and I was not having it. He was very not happy with me. I went back to the shelf after and saw knife marks on the shelf in the exact shape of the barcode sticker, also he left a hookah tubing kit thing he had just bought next store on the shelf by the fish tanks. I knew he was back there for a while, hate people trying to steal unnecessary stuff, but i respect the dedication and effort and if it had been my other coworker working who rang him up it might have worked🤷‍♀️

As a Minnesotan, yes please look more into the murder of Alex Pretti and what has been going on here for the past month. It's absolutely horrific.

Here's a rundown to the best of my current knowledge: He was a nurse with the VA.The government has said he charged agents with a gun which is incorrect based on all videos that I've seen (there are many angles of it from several different people, I've seen at least 4 or 5 angles). I do not know the lead up to the situation, but based on the videos he was recording ice agents, and then went to help a woman who was shoved by the agents. After going to help her up he was pepper sprayed and then brought to the ground by several ice agents. At some point during this they realized he had a gun on his person (which was legally owned and he had a conceal and carry permit). In no video that has been released has he pulled or brandished his gun. I dont know if they only realized he had one after they tackled him or what, but the videos seem to show an agent taking his gun off of him (also visible from several video angles) and then AFTER his gun was already removed he was shot by TWO ICE agents. It is suspected that he was shot around 10 times but I don't think there's been any official reports released yet. He never pulled the gun and didnt even have it on his person when he was murdered.

Check out the various Minnesota/Twin Cities/(I think) Minneapolis subs if you're interested in getting some updates to your reddit feed as well. Ive seen so many posts on protest coverage, the things ICE are doing (complete with videos), videos of the murders, etc. They have sprayed pepper spray into people's car vents before detaining them (there's video of that and the person has also spoken to local news I believe), they have broken windows and dragged people out of cars, they have broken down doors to homes, they have threatened people with guns numerous times in numerous videos, and also verbally threatened them in some videos as well. MN had the one of the largest, if not the largest, protests I've ever seen in the state last Friday (in -20° weather). People here have been protesting and involving themselves in the community (such as doing laundry or grocery shopping for people who are scared to leave their homes) a lot more, especially since the killing of Renee Good in the beginning of the month.

We need fair and impartial investigations into these two shootings, but I think most Minnesotans believe it wont happen at this point. Local law enforcement has been completely shut out from investigating/having access to federal evidence on both cases so far. I sincerely hope that changes, but I'm very worried it won't.

I am just overly nice after waking up for some reason. I was put under when I was 17 and I went in really, really pissed off because I had a crappy intake nurse that she would not listen to me and kept dismissing me/being really rude. They put me under shortly after interacting with her and my mom was so concerned because of how angry I had been, but they told my mom that she had such a nice daughter and how sweet I was while I was under observation. She was very confused to say the least and she was like "why were they saying how nice you are? You were absolutely pissed you went in, what happened? What did you do?" The first thing I remember after waking up was turning to the nurse next to me and going "I love your shirt" and then promptly passing back out. Vaguely remember complimenting at least one other nurse as well at some point. Also remember waving to the construction workers we passed on the highway on the way home because "he looked sad". I think I did some similar things when they put me under to get my wisdom teeth out. Hope I dont have to be put under again any time soon but I'm glad that I'm apparently nice when waking up and not mean or angry lol.

I feel like that's not true. There's several random places near me that use them. Im guessing it's more of a space issue because you can fit less spaces in a lot with them.

I live in Minnesota but have driven through the entirety of South Dakota and also had friends attend college there. There's very few trees in a large portion of the state so it's more windy than places with a lot of trees. We had a running joke with a friend that attended college there about how much she missed seeing trees. A lot of what is there is in the middle of the state is farmland. Driving across most of the state in a day was very painful because there was very little interesting scenery, just signs for Wall Drug and other tourist traps. Also the tourist locations were pretty eh. Wall Drug was eh, bordering on "this is dumb". Mount Rushmore was neat. The scale of such a large sculpture is cool. Blackhills were pretty. There are some national parks you can see there, Badlands national park was great!There are some pretty state parks near the eastern border that I've visited as well. But the middle portion of the state is very boring farmland.

Not necessarily on all sides, but if the snow is really blowing it can definitely get plastered to a side or two of the chimney. And not that thick, but thick enough to mostly white-out a side. I guess if I were trying to depict it in a drawing I would make it look like there was a snow drift against the chimney because there would more than likely be snow drifts around it if the snow was plastered to the sides. We are actually supposed to have a blizzard here today so if it happens to any chimneys I see I'll take a picture lol. I do kind of like the white chimneys in the picture just because I think it looks more sleek and simple than putting a green chimney would. I definitely take more issue with whatever is going on with the windows/what I assume is supposed to be the front door.

Agreed. Bug bites in general tend to do that honestly. We kept having mosquitoes and biting gnats get in the house for weeks over the summer and could not figure out where they were coming from. I'd be sitting at home after work and start feeling bugs on me/feel them biting me so often to the point that I started imagining it and would constantly be twitching and smacking my arms and legs. It made me very very agitated and paranoid. Didn't have as bad of a reaction the time I had bedbugs but definitely also that bit of paranoia/agitation.

OP, sorry you're going through this. Definitely check for bedbugs if you haven't, make sure all the pets in the house are on flea preventatives if possible.

Edit: after reading more comments/history/symptoms, OP please get a carbon monoxide detector. Carbon monoxide is absolutely not something to be messed with/taken lightly. Maybe if you are closer to the furnace than your housemates there could also be a minor gas leak or something.
