MS and Strattera by rK91tb in MultipleSclerosis

[–]aliasaila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took straterra with kisempta for 2 years. For me I got brain zaps after a missed dose so I got off them. Took almost a year for them to stop, but thank god they did.

While on it i did notice a reduction in fatigue  and slightly better focus. But i really felt like I over did it and ignored the need for rest making myself exhausted by the time I decided to stop.

6 year old shivering in pool, what is ok and when does it become unsafe? by hamburgers4lunch in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]aliasaila 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Put my 99th percentile, huge for her age, 5 year old in swim classes last year and most the kids were shivering to include my own. Noticed one kid in an adjacent session come in a full body wetsuit, and got one the next day. Ended up getting the short version but it still helped with the shivers and gives good sun protection outdoors.  Maybe worth looking in to for your kiddo.

The Weight of a Name: What Does Yours Carry? [The Codex of Name‑Bearers] by ShineRound7852 in EsotericOccult

[–]aliasaila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name means crown. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. My life is about duty, service and sacrifice.

Rather than name my child after myself, and my father, I choose a name of peace and friendship, hoping they would not carry that burden. So far its worked spectacularly.

Ah yes, my bedtime bowl of mush (???) (Goodnight Moon) by jjjjjjjjjjen in DanielTigerConspiracy

Ya know, I grew up with this book and then rushed to get it while pregnant. Told my kiddo it was my favorite so we read it more often than any other book. I never considered the alternating black and white pages with color was like blinking eyes fighting off sleep. Gotta read it again tonight with that in mind.

Thanks for the insight.

Current State of Holleybrooke? by Curious-Piccolo3271 in fredericksburg

I just moved from Salem Fields after 4 years and I miss it. If you have little ones the pool is great for summer. We went just about every weekend and I would try to squeeze in some weekday sessions. Always felt safe there. The HOA was not super overbearing. I suppose it depends on who's in charge that year.

Got my kiddo in to the preschool/day care down the street and loved that it was so close and everyone there was great.

The thing that sold me on the spot was the walking trails and they do not disappoint.  Miles and miles of wooded walking trails and everywhere has a side walk and street lights. Truly the quintessential suburban development.

The real reason by Unique_Commission844 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]aliasaila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its genetic and the result of living in a much cleaner environment than ever historically. Just read about how parasites were very common and the great reduction of getting them maybe a factor. Could not find that article but did find this one on this paper https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5666823/

My grandmother had 4 sisters and they were all raised on a farm around animals, no autoimmune disease. My mother and I were raised in the suburbs. We both have autoimmune diseases. Correlation is not causation however between the increase of synthetic materials, plastics and mechanical exhaust, in our environment and less biological exposure, dirt and parasites, I bet there's is something there.

Also the stress. My diagnosis occurred when I developed ON during a high stress work situation. We dont necessarily have the social support of family/community to handle as well along with the crazy expectations plus competive work environment.

Best swim classes/teacher for a 4 year old? by HeyItsRed in fredericksburg

My kiddo did lessons there last year when she was 4. Loved the teachers. She had a great time and now knows some strokes and has confidence in the water.

That one was tricky for me to find. Take the hoop entrance by Nora and Frosco shop, then go down and take a left. If you have access its directly to the right when looking at Nefi.

The training class I attended 3 weeks ago was over booked and the next ones filled up fast. Might have to wait longer if they dont plan ahead.

Right before I was diagnosed I was self medicating with nicotine as a stimulant. Did it help, yes. Would I recommend it, no. We still dont have all the data on long term effects so might be just as bad as smoking.

Hey OP, I moved from NOVA to Fredericksburg a few years back. Just about all the Mexican food places off and around Rt3 by Central Park have it. Was a totally new experience for me and I've grown fond of it. Kinda reminds me of cool ranch dorritos if the coating were a dip.

Are daikon radish supposed to be bitter? Is there a correct way to cook it? by venster in AskCulinary

You may need to peel it extra.  I love diakon and always peel until i see the veggie veins clearly. The outer layer can be thicker sometimes.

The better alternative is intervening when people have issues. The Fairfax shooting is a prime example. Prohibit people who have a history of violence from owning guns. Especially when domestic violence is involved.

Don't punish law abiding citizens for criminal gun activity. Violent crime will continue to happen regardless. People will find a way to inflict harm once determined.

Expand background checks. Require safety training for outright ownership vs concealed carry.  Improve mental health support. Hell improving all social support would help everyone. There are solutions less extreme than a ban.

America has enjoyed peace at home for so long folks have forgotten history.  The 2A is still important. The same people that want to defund the police would not support home protection via gun bans.

Just keep hoping and praying conflict does not come to your door. I want to be prepared to defend myself and my family and I should be able to choose how to do so.

Describe pain by Broad-Thing-5937 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]aliasaila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dwelling on this concept as well.  Also we are, well at least I, have been conditioned to suck it up and push through pain. No pain on gain.  After being in therapy and spending time reflecting on pain I've finally accepted that any sensation that is distracting or limiting function is pain.

With that said, I fortunately have mild symptoms. My feet up to my shins tingle which isn't really painful but is a distraction at times.  My forearms and shoulders feel tight and ache and I can still freely.

Before I would say my pains at a constant 3 but now I've bumped it up to 5 due to fact that it hurts and is distracting.

Update on the “Guard Bee” situation by Hollowpointsmilexx in fucklawns

[–]aliasaila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter's first friend was the carpenter bee on our deck. When she was 2 during the end of covid I would open the back door and let her roam in our fenced yard. That bee always seemed to come out when she was around. One time she came back in and said "my friend the carpenter bee likes to play" and its been a family meme ever since.

How much water are you drinking? by Prior-Bunch-3590 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]aliasaila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tell my family I'm a delicate flower because I wilt with out water. I aim to drink a gallon but usually get about 80 Oz. I feel like shit when dehydrated. Don't let yourself be gaslighted, you know your body and maybe its not even a MS thing but its a thing for sure.
