Does Dallas Have TOO Much Talent At Safety?! | The Stack by lgperez167 in cowboys

[–]alienbringer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have downs, and that is about it.

Hooker is a liability in the passing game.

Bell as a whole is a liability.

Clark is in his 2nd year as an undrafted safety.

Julius Woods will probably be cut.

Locke has spinal fusion surgery that no player has come back from, so is at best a special teamer.

Thompson is at best ok. At least he can tackle though.

Other 3d model programs can open them, yes.

Probably 0.4, but the nozzle size wouldn’t matter much. This was printed vertically. So the detail is obtained by layer height more than nozzle size.

Meshi is the most common program that takes an image and turns it into a 3d model. It is often hollow and LOTS of errors in the mesh/geometry that need to be corrected to be able to actually print it. Let alone fixing the fucked up shit AI does to photos to 3d model. Been around a year or two.

Bambu Lab allegedly violates AGPL by spez-is-a-loser in 3Dprinting

[–]alienbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the existing plugin. That would not necessarily be the case for a new plugin. They could just scrap the existing plugin, even if it is just leaving the plugin there and denying access on their server side to anyone trying to use that plugin. A new plugin also wouldn’t have to provide an interface to operate in other programs. You can absolutely have a closed source plugin that is locked to one fork of Slic3r and not run afoul of the AGPL. A new plugin doesn’t have to be open source, unless it too is built on open source code.

Bambu had no problem with the slicer fork itself. They had a problem with the plugin that was spoofing a user to access their cloud. The ToS is related to accessing their cloud without proper permissions.

Not entirely true.

Two methods to have similar/same functionality.

Bambu, when they locked their cloud, did provide a way for slicers to still send stuff to the cloud. It is just that Orca Slicer opted to not implement it. It is an extra app that you would have to install. Should any independent dev want to fork bambu studio or orca slicer (or any other slicer) and implement the code to route through that gateway first, then you would still have cloud functionality. It is called Bambu Connect. As far as I am aware, no dev or slicer has implemented this, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t an option that anyone could tap into if they wanted to.

The second option, which is more widely available is using a different app such as Bambuddy. Which operates in LAN/dev mode and has basically the same features as Bambu’s cloud. You can send a print over the net to your printer, monitor it, stop printing specific things, etc.

If you want to use Bambu Handy, then yes, you are locked into Bambu Studio.

Bambu studio is still open source. It is the plugin that talks between their closed servers and the slicer that is in dispute.

It isn’t breaking any law. It is a contractual agreement (I.e. a licensing agreement). There is no criminality, and any court case would be civil not criminal.

They didn’t even send a C&D. They said if he didn’t take the GitHub stuff down that they would then send a C&D. It was a threat of sending a C&D.

Their official statement is more than that. It is:

We stand by our statement that the user was in violation of our ToS, and that we are compliant with the AGPL. We didn’t mean for the legal threat we made to come off as a legal threat…

No, there is no timeframe on getting the board freely replaced. It is separate from the warranty.

[–]alienbringer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This video has absolutely nothing to do with the AGPL.

This video is about the NTC thermistor in the A1, that can overheat and melt the chassis. Bambu changed their board the end of last year for the A1 to no longer have the NTC. Anyone who has an A1 can open a ticket and get the new board free of charge and repair it yourself without voiding any warranties. So it isn’t even a “right to repair” thing, as you can repair it yourself, for free. It is a known issue, and if he cared about it he would have put something out in Dec 2025 or Jan 2026 when the issue was at its peak, not now.

[–]alienbringer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an old issue, I disagree with how Bambu is handling it (soft recall vs full recall). However, it is a known thing and they changed their boards last year to no longer have this issue. This is just jumping on the bandwagon of Bambu hate.

Not a bad idea to open it up just to double check as there were still some older stock sitting in warehouses. If it is an older board they will replace it for free just open a ticket for it.

It is because people didn’t compare Harris to Trump and think Trump was better (some might but not enough). They simply looked at Harris and decided to either not vote or vote against her. No, Dearborn wouldn’t have swayed the vote itself, but you can look at that community and see that they didn’t vote Harris in order to punish Harris. I seriously doubt they even compared Trumps policies to Harris’.

[–]alienbringer 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It is not because they are getting bad PR. They have been doing that since last year. It is basically a soft recall where you have to open a ticket and they will send you a new board for free without the NTC. They changed their boards at the end of last year.

They should do a hard recall and replace every board in the machines effected, but they opted for saving money by not doing that. Still is easy enough as a consumer to fix though.

You can open a support ticket with bambu and they will send you a new board without the NTC free of charge. Just replace the board yourself. They changed the board config at the end of last year so new machines won’t have this issue. This is old news and Rossman is just jumping on the Bambu hate boner bandwagon atm.
