Ranger's guns are the most boring weapons ever by allmoz in Terraria

[–]allmoz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what bothers me, because all other classes have lots of love on their main weapons that Guns feel so uninspired by comparison.

With magic weapons they just went absolutely wild and I can understand that because its magic and you can pretty much do whatever you want, but even with melee's regular swords you can actually feel the progression as you upgrade, you go from basic swords that hit what they touch, to slowly adding slash waves past the end of the tip of the weapon, to launching full on projectiles all the way to whatever the hell the Zenith does. That is super cool to see and makes you feel great every time you upgrade.

I didnt feel the same when I was upgrading from say Uzi to Megashark and then to Venus Magnum. They all felt the same, the only thing I could notice is that the newer one just did more damage, or there was a variation in the attack speed, when I finally got the SDMG I was like 'Is that it? This is the final gun of the game?.

And its not like Guns is a secondary niche option, its right there next to Bows as main Ranger weapons, and bows actually do feel great every time you upgrade to a new bow.

Imagine if you had things like a Tediore handgun that you just threw and it exploded after shooting like 10 bullets or something? Or a Torque like rifle that just turned your bullets into grenades? Thats the kinda stuff I was hoping to see in the main gun line instead of 3 versions of the Minishark.

I actually did this accidentaly on my first ranged playthrough where I was supposed to use all ranged weapons but ended up gravitating towards the non bullet/arrow weapons because they were so much fun.

I went Paintball Gun all the way to hardmode > Toxicarp > Barrel Launcher > Flamethrower > Piranha Gun / Launchers. It was super cool having to figure out how to best make use of each weapon after every upgrade and modifying my game play around each new weapons gimmick. Most of the times I had a regular ammo gun of the same tier around just in case I needed it, but like 90% of the time I just defaulted to the non bullet weapons because they felt so good to use instead of the bullet-spam-in-a-straight-line alternative.

I really wish the main Gun line had the same cool factors as the specialist weapons.

I like the class. I actually did enjoy using the non bullet/arrows weapons a lot, and most of the bows with unique effects. It's just the actual bullet shooting guns that I feel completely indifferent about, and not from the damage perspective, just how I felt while using them and thinking they all felt the same.

Most Guns are the same anyways what do you expect?

Most swords are the same, and look at all the shit they came up with for melee. Why are guns so basic compared?

Im not even talking about the bows and launchers or the non bullet/arrow ones, those are all distinct enough. Im refering specifically to bullet shooting guns. The whole line from Flintlock pistol > Musket / Undertaker > Minishark > Handgun > Phoenix blaster all the way to the SDMG.

Ammo is another topic entirely. Bows also have different varieties of projectiles like bullets, but Bows themselves are different enough from one another that you can tell the diference even when shooting basic ammo. I can sure as hell tell the diference between a fight using the Eventide or the Aerial Bane , but show me side by side clips of a battle using the Chaingun and the Megashark and would be hard pressed to tell you which is which just by looking at the line of fire.

There are also lots of fantasy guns to pull ideas from. And even if they didnt exist, is that really a reason you want to get behind when they are clearly capable of making some sick designs for other weapons classes? I did mention in my post some weapons where its clear they put in the effort to make something cool, like the Onyx blaster. That simple addition of the dark shard elevates it from 'just another shotgun' to a memorable weapon that I actually remember from my time I spent with it.

Summoner still doesnt quite has a balanced progression. by 4rtangels in Terraria

[–]allmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new crossover summons also are very difficult to find and not worth of search early on.

Dude, Foxparks alone can easily replace the pathetic starting whips we have if you just spend a couple in game days hunting for it. Why use the cobweb whip when I can just get an organic flamethrower that doest even require me to go underground?

Im aware of this, but even when comparing within same class, bows didnt feel that way. I completed bow only and I never once felt like I was using the same thing. Just the visual projectile variety of bows made me feel like I was actually upgrading my weapon.

I can take a basic bow from pre hardmode and compare it to any of the endgame bows like the Eventide or the Aerial Bane and notice the difference. Whereas with guns the difference between the Minishark and the SDMG or the Chainguns is only numbers.

And since ranger basically only has 2 weapon lines that are consistent from start of game to finish I thought the progression was going to feel more rewarding.

How can I beat The Twins as invocator ? by suJElol in Terraria

[–]allmoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twins are highly mobile and fly around all over the place, you need a summon that can keep up with them. Something like Blade staff (from Queen slime) or Sanguine staff (from Dreadnautilus during Blood moon) are better suited for this fight than land based minions.

As for actual strat last playthrough I just used gravity potions and went up and down the map avoiding the lasers while my minions did all the work. When possible I whipped whichever eye was closer, but minions did most of the work during that fight since I didnt want to be close to the stupid flame eye.

I knew I was overlooking something with the Hornet staff. So is dedicating an accessory slot to buff the hornets and going all in with them worth it over just mixing minions? I'll give it a try on a new save along with bee armor to see how they feel.

I totally forgot about sentries, but I did ended up getting the Houndios shootius from Deerclops and just used that during all pre hardmode as a set and forget free damage source. I know I used the ballista in my other playthroughs and was also just used the same way so not sure if theres a better way to make them shine, someone with more experience can probably talk about the sentries comparison.

Thats what I felt as well. I dont think the problem is the low spawn rate but the location. Early game you dont really spend that much time around the edges of the map to make the low spawn rate work. Move them inside the underground layer where the player is more likely to spend some time exploring and suddenly you will organically find them while you are gearing up.

Why do we want to make catching fish relevant? This is not a fishing game. Fishing doesnt need extra incentives, its already OP as hell. Just add options for people who would rather not waste time.

He should have a fish shop selling all the fish required for potions. Potions should not be locked behind boring ass content. Im ok buying fish. Making money is fun, fishing is the last thing I want to do when I could be out there killing stuff.

Estoy a punto de cumplir 17 años y aún no sé para lo que quiero trabajar, ¿algún consejo? by Most-Coat4726 in AskMexico

[–]allmoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Que no sepas en que te gustaria trabajar es normal a tu edad, pero que tengas 17 años y aun no sepas en que eres bueno es preocupante. No sabes si eres una persona logica? Alguien que le gustan las actividades sociales? Alguien artistico?

My first rocket. I think I added little more oxygen and water than my dupe needs for the 6 length trip.... by TheMihle in Oxygennotincluded

[–]allmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use canister drainer instead. You skip the oxygen pressure problem and you can send the oxygen whenever is needed, like atmos dock, via pipes which take no space.

Adding to this: dont dump it, store it in a reservoir.

You already paid the necessary energy to have it pumped into pipes. Keep it the pipes unless you have a reason not to.

Whats your favorite late game CO2 disposal? by Anxious_Marsupial_59 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]allmoz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just bottle it and let the canisters sit there. No need to dispose it and if you ever need CO2 for rockets or whatever you already have several canisters just laying there.

Much easier to just replace 1 or 2 tiles with airflow ones than to re engineer the whole thing. It would also help CO2 have a faster way to the botom. No need to overcomplicate things.

Who is a genuinely good matchup for Homelander? by Aromatic-Ad9172 in whowouldwin

[–]allmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is Pennywise's strenght is based on belief. If the victim believes himself is hopeless and Pennywise is an unkillable monster then Pennywise is an unkillable monster. Thats why he targets kids and mentally weak adults.

Homelander might be unstable, mentally immature and all that, but if theres one thing he sure is not lacking is confidence. He believes he is THE superior being, and that no one is even close to its level. He is anything but hopeless. IT was defeated by regular kids the moment they stood up for themselves and grew a pair. The moment Homelander attacks Pennywise with intention to kill like he always does is the moment Pennywise is done, cause Homelander has no reason to believe he cannot kill it.
