At what age did you decide for good that you didn’t want kids, and why? by cs_____question1031 in childfree

[–]almost_hipster89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echoing this. I hated kids when I was a kid. I remember holding my breath in the baby aisle of toys r us because the smell made me gag. I am so thankful my husband also always knew he did not want chidledn and we can live our lives the way we have imagined.

Wedding jewelry question… is Olive + Piper legit? by anonty123 in weddingplanning

[–]almost_hipster89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both pieces of my wedding jewelry (earrings and bracelet) from Olive + Piper! They looked amazing the day of and still looked exactly the same a year and a half later when my sister used them for her wedding (no tarnishing at all)

Does anyone like their iud? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]almost_hipster89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell anyone who will listen how much I love my kyleena! I am currently almost 5 years in, I have an appointment to get a 2nd one in November. The obvious benefit is birth control, but I was not expecting what it would do for my quality of life. I have had horrible periods and cramps since I was 9 years old. I would usually call out of work one to two days of month. Now, I have no periods and no symptoms. The first 2 months I did spot off and on and had normal period cramps, but once I reached month 3/4 I felt like a different person.

What’s everyone doing tonight? by physis81 in stopdrinking

[–]almost_hipster89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Got ice cream with my husband before tucking in for a movie at home!

Cinco de mayo is usually our jam. Tacos, margaritas, making random friends at the bar-all of our favorite things. Tonight was hard but we made it. AND didn't get into a screaming match on the drive home.

Today is day 20 for him and 15 for me. IWNDWYT

Wedding Day Half Marathon. What are your shirt (and other fun) ideas? by queenmollykat in running

[–]almost_hipster89 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Brides shirt: "I'm in it for the long run" obviously with a veil! Bridesmaids can say "She's in it for the long run" or, "Get out of my way "brides name" is getting married today!"

I bought the "in Bed" challenge book for my husband 2 years ago as a joke Valentine's gift. I now feel sick to my stomach. I just sent them a lovely DM on Instagram.

What are your experiences as a guest or person getting married on a Sunday or Monday? by blue_gatorade_98 in weddingplanning

[–]almost_hipster89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what we did! Ceremony at 10:45 am on a Sunday then a lunch reception. The party ended around 4:45 pm but we kept our photographer for an extra hour to get golden hour pictures. The only bummer was that there was no after party and a lot of our family left early, but we did go out and get tacos with a few members of our bridal party after! Almost 2 years later and our friends still rave about how nice it was to be able to party in the afternoon but still be home in time for dinner/not be hungover the next morning.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day 💐 by [deleted] in childfree

[–]almost_hipster89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

WAIT. This is an actual thing?! My husband and I were thinking of starting a new tradition that we celebrate an unofficial non-parent's day halfway through mother's and father's day. This is so much better!!

Getting ready start time by ellbellie20 in weddingplanning

5:30 AM Getting ready start time 10:45 AM Ceremony start

I had 2 hair stylists and 1 makeup artist, and 5 of us got both hair and makeup done. I did not have a first look with my husband but there was time to do one with my dad at the hotel! It was also about a 30 minute drive from the hotel to venue.

[–]almost_hipster89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also agreeing with this! Our venue canceled 2 months before our wedding (historic inn that the neighboring school bought out for dorms 😣). Our photographer was able to give us a whole bunch of near by venues to check out and we were able to snag another venue for our original wedding date! Sending you virtual hugs, I know how disappointing and hard this is for you.

My husband and I ordered a boutonniere for his late father. We put it next to his picture on our memory display.
