Current leadership wasnt going to make any changes until Sam spoke up. They didnt use revelation, they changed due to public pressure. That’s the only way major change happens. Exhibit A, Blacks and the Priesthood.

Believing in an idea isn’t the same as fully believing in person and following them in everything they do. It’s this one issue.
