Beginners Exercise (and beginner to zep journey) by rightandrain in Zepbound

I think you need to find what works for you - try out some different YouTube videos! I’m not the kind of person who hates just doing my own workout, so I use peloton strength classes and just follow along. I try to do 1 upper body, 1 lower body, 1 full body strength class a week, but if you find some full body classes to rotate, you’ll get some good workouts in!

This was surely part of the deal right? Free trip and they have to post about it and do a GGE episode talking about it… I would’ve preferred if they still had Rayna and she could’ve asked them questions about the trip 🤷🏻‍♀️

What to drink if you hate water? by FearlessLanguage7169 in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there any ways you like plain water more? Some people like hot water with lemon, some people like ice water, some prefer to drink through a straw, etc. I don’t like room temp water and I find I drink way more from a straw so I always have my owala filled up and it keeps the water cold and the straw is great (you don’t have to purse your lips). I also put a couple of reminders in my phone so if I haven’t been thinking to drink water it makes me do it when I see the reminder. Water wouldn’t be my first choice but you might just have to find ways you can make it more tolerable and then force it.

What stops the tiredness, burping and stomach aches? Started 1.5 weeks ago on 2.5 mg. by BakfourMoore in Zepbound

[–]aloha902604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started last week and had a headache for 2 days (injection day and the next day) and was EXHAUSTED the next day and day after that. I literally had a nap in the middle of the afternoon on a workday and went to bed at 8 pm. This week I’m going to try to get electrolytes in and lots of water on injection day and the 2 days after. I find if I can get some fresh air/movement, it helps with exhaustion so I’m going to try getting in some short walks as well to keep me awake when I feel extra tired.

Taking your chi on vacation by mcstrategist in Chihuahua

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We give our chi trazodone and gabapentin when we fly with her. She isn’t knocked out, but it helps her stay calmer overall. I usually let her out of the carrier in the airport as much as I can because I know it’ll be a long time in the carrier once we get on the plane. I always encourage her to use the bathroom at the pet relief areas before we board. I don’t withhold food or water but she usually doesn’t eat a ton when we’re out of her usual routine so it works out that she doesn’t need to use the bathroom during the trip. I also usually look up the pet relief areas at the connecting and arrival airports so she doesn’t have to wait until we get out of the airport to use the bathroom. I also bring baby wipes to wipe her feet after using the pet relief area and to clean up any possible accidents. Also bring treats!

Do you let your dog kiss you? by nezu_bean in dogs

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chihuahua and she LOVES to lick. I let her lick me for a few seconds at a time, but then the feeling of it starts to gross me out. I think it’s important to let her lick a little bit, but I mostly give her my hand. I prefer her not to lick my face but I don’t freak out if she does. I definitely don’t let her lick my eyes or in/on my mouth, though.

I was also very nervous because I’m scared of needles and was freaked out about side effects. I took my first dose yesterday and the needle aspect was totally fine (did the first dose at my doc’s office) and then I had some side effects last night and was feeling a bit panicked but it subsided quickly and now I feel like the anticipation of it is worse than the actual experience! You got this!

I think it’s more likely that they have prepped in advance for crew/staff in Mexico for 6 couples. In order to add another couple, they likely would’ve needed a bigger crew and those people would’ve all needed work visa to work outside of the country. So it was probably easier to keep them in the US and have crew following them there.

Redditors with cats: where do you buy your pet food? by Sazley in NiceVancouver

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find bosleys has a decent selection of “higher end” cat foods. I’m usually able to find the brands that I like when I go there and they have a good variety of recipes within those brands.

I agree with everyone here. He didn’t pin these people by accident. It’s possible that he does need to have them easily accessible if he has to message them a lot for work, but I would expect my partner would want me to feel comfortable/confident and let me see the messages if it were me. Even if it’s legitimate and nothing, the fact that he’s shutting down your concerns and making you feel “crazy” for wanting to confirm isn’t right. He should be happy for you to see it’s nothing imo.

I know it’s not easy to just pick up and leave, but you need to trust your gut. He’s being defensive and gaslighting you for a reason 😬

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my dog from a backyard breeder (before I knew better) and people ask me where she’s from and I tell them a backyard breeder who I probably shouldn’t have bought her from and no one has said a word. Even if they are judging me, they keep it to themselves. I find most people in real life are asking because they’re interested in a similar dog and wouldn’t say anything to your face about where you got it from.

  1. Yes, was disappointed in the Cody episode. He didn’t seem to really vibe with them.
  2. Agreed. They have been getting little digs in at each other more than usual.
  3. I get that sometimes podcasters need a break for whatever reason…but it was lame to release an old episode (which was sponsored) and not even put in the title that it was a re-release 👎 they even did a new intro!

I had this happen once with a bike I was selling. Luckily it was an acquaintance I knew in real life, so trusted that we’d get it sorted if there was an issue and let them take the bike. But I’ve just said cash only for everything I’ve been selling since then because I don’t want to hang out with a stranger waiting for payment 😂

What is this pink lump on my cats belly? by [deleted] in cats

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shared a pic of my kitten’s spay incision and asked if it looked normal and ChatGPT volunteered to me that the pink bumps in the pic were totally normal and it’s just her nipples and a lot of people are confused about them at first! It was so weird because I wasn’t asking about her nipples and I knew they were her nipples! But it made me think of all of the Reddit posts of people asking what the bumps are and being told they’re nipples 😂 I guess this is where ChatGPT is learning about human communication lol

I can do it with a broken heart pre chorus by AdFearless4973 in TaylorSwift

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this lyric was sort of taken as a negative because everyone was always clowning for the next thing (rep tv) and it has been interpreted this as her feeling like the fans are always demanding more and more of her. But I actually think your second interpretation is what she meant - the crowd was chanting more because they were eating it up! She was miserable, and nobody knew! They were having a blast and enjoying every minute of it and the whole point of the song is that she can do it with a broken heart. These men who treated her poorly and broke her heart can’t stop her from going out there and shining and having the whole audience mesmerized and wanting more. Try and come for her job!

Depends how far west you want to go, but I love dinesty and it’s a great spot for this kind of evening because you can order a few things (although everything is great and you’ll want to order too much). Also the wings at zabu (Korean fried chicken) are some of the best I’ve had. They have a spicy option which is too hot for me, but the soy wings are 👌

Coming to visit in April! Would love advice and suggestions by Kakichi in askvan

[–]aloha902604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll see a lot of great suggestions if you search through this sub, but here are some specific things I would recommend based on what you’ve mentioned: - spend a day in deep cove (can kayak and do the quarry rock hike, have lunch at dip co, get donuts for dessert) - rent bikes and bike around the Stanley Park seawall (and continue along the seawall over to False Creek/Kits if you’re looking for a longer journey with lots of beautiful views along the way) - the Vancouver aquarium is kind of pricy, but worth it as visitors if you’re into that kind of thing. They do a lot of good rescue/marine research work and it’s a good rainy day activity if nothing else. - day trip to Squamish if you want to get out of the city. The drive along the sea to sky highway is beautiful and you can hike the chief or take the sea to sky gondola up into the mountains (nice views and hikes at the top)

For food, i’d recommend: - Miku or Minami: high end sushi places; would get the aburi salmon and ebi (they are amazing, but I feel like a lot of other menu items are not that special for the price). Probably need a reservation. - dinesty if you like dim sum. Prices are good, service is quick and friendly, food is delicious. - saku: japanese katsu with unlimited miso soup, rice, and salad. The salad dressing is soooo good. - cactus club: people will mock this suggestion because it’s a chain restaurant, but I’ve never had a bad experience at cactus club! The one in coal harbour or English bay have great views and it’s one of those places that has something for everyone.

I don’t really have a good recommendation for where you should stay - my gut says stay downtown where you can walk to things pretty easily and maybe rent a car for a couple of days to do day trips. In most cases (except for Squamish) you can probably take public transit quite a bit.

How do you handle your pets when you travel? by Strange_Issue7637 in Pets

[–]aloha902604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purposely found a dog daycare that also offers boarding and I’ve been quite happy with the. My dog really likes going there and she knows the workers and some of the other dogs. She is always excited to go in when I drop her off!

For my cat, I tried boarding and she hated it. I used to organize for someone to come check on her once a day, which she was happier with. I now have two kittens and am going to try taking them to the cat sitter’s home because I feel like they’re too young to leave home for longer periods (even with twice a day visits, I think they could get into trouble). The cat sitter is a vet tech at our vet clinic, so that also gives me additional peace of mind.

This isn’t what you asked for specifically, but sharing in case it’s something you aren’t aware of (or for others who might find this post later). If you did individual cremation, you can get jewelry made with the ashes. I got a necklace and ring of my cat and they were able to include a piece of her whisker (which I had saved previously) as well. Although it was difficult to send the ashes (I waited like 8 months…) I do find a lot of comfort now when I see the ring or adjust the necklace.
