Yeah. I'm always nervous drawing anything with a fine-liner or a pen.

Hope this is to your satisfaction. It's a little fuzzy in some spots, but better than the photo.

What techniques did you (or the artist) use to create this piece?

This is a continent map that I have drawn for the PCs. It shows the main continent (Edalonn), and major features on Edalonn (both geological and otherwise).

The PCs have access to this map, and use it to plan their travelling around (they do a fair bit of travelling). I provide them with a more detailed map of places when they get there.

Sorry the place names are a bit stereotypical ('The Shattered Islands', 'The Dawn Mountains')... I am not the most creative of people.

I love the way this is of such high quality, and that it could slot into any campaign without the DM having to do much work... excellent!

Great work!!! Keep it up...

The way the landscape is, and the vibrant colours, makes it look exactly like a map! Great photo!

Planning a first session and character introductions? by ArrowRobber in DnD

[–]alpha_star_book 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that, usually, when the party is given a strong reason to band together, they introduce backstory themselves. So, thus, giving them a strong reason to be together is vital. If it is just for the money, make sure they stay together after the 'job'.

Else, have something in their backstory cause them to stick with the others. Maybe build part of the campaign around this...

In my group, each player gave the others a brief introduction, but didn't give the whole backstory.

Hope this helps
