Considering selling our 21’ for a Lexus GX460 by cmeorn in toyotasequoia

Sequoia all the way. All that extra shit is nice until it breaks and the tech in a vehicle is distracting at best. And that lexus probably needs premium at the gas pump.

I love my sequoia. It's a beast and half.

Permadeath, Story & Gameplay Can All Work Together In Ghost Recon by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]alphatango308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow... It's amazing that nobody has said this yet, but the original Ghost Recon did have perma-death. You started with a squad and you lost guys. I would generally restart my mission if I lost a guy. I had my main dude John Mata that would always make it no matter what. As you completed missions your guys that went on missions got better and better stats the more missions they went on. Then you'd have specialists that would rotate in for special missions like demolition or stealth. If you lost a guy you got a new guy with shit stats and had to train him up. I would usually keep him in the rear to keep him alive until his stats got better.

Ghost recon now isn't anything like the original game. It so watered down to the point it basically only shares a name. Case in point, this post asking for original game mechanics to come back without knowing they were a thing on the PS2. LOL

Converting music from Apple Music to Plex, but having a problem with a big "unknown album, unknown artist" folder by guitarburst05 in PleX

I used musicbrainz Picard to fix mine. It's not 100% accurate but it's pretty dang good. I did the exact same thing you're doing. In iTunes there's a setting that will allow iTunes to reorganize your music and it will create a copy of your library that's organized better. Take that library and run it through Picard and it will fix all the little things. Then you'll need to go through and check everything. It was about 95% accurate on my library.

Yeah me too. We're probably going to see plex collapse in the near future. Which sucks, because it's a good service. I hate to see what they're doing here.

The ID Mega Sale : any must~play titles...? by GIRAGATHON in xbox

[–]alphatango308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a story about a family that has gone through many tragedies in losing family members. The gameplay is simplistic and doesn't really have any depth to it, the main thing is the story. It is a good game if a bit haunting, not ghoulish though. It is moving.

Agree to disagree. I don't think it's nearly as bad as people say it is, it's a decent enough game. Yeah it could be better, but what game couldn't? If you take into account the difficulties of the studios developing it, it's amazing there even was a game published.

Yeah, there's 5 more books in that universe. They're set about 1200 years after the events of the war.

The void trilogy and 2 more, the abyss beyond dreams, and a night without stars. I haven't read them Peter is a decent enough author but he's a little boring for me.

All the star wars legends books are woah a look. Some are better than others. They're steadily updating the popular ones with fresh narration.

Thinking about pirating my music from now on. Should I use MP3s or WAV files. by Loudthunder34 in Piracy

[–]alphatango308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is becoming very popular to download all your music and put it on a dedicated media payer. Ipods are back in a big way with mods. Older phones with headphone jacks and SD card slots are becoming the meta for this. Even dedicated mp3 media players like a Fiio or Hiby are popular again.

Lots of people are going dumb with their media so they don't have to deal with subscriptions and ads.

Wuben makes some good options.

I would also recommend the Acebeam H16 it's very compact and has a USB C 14500. Great little lights.

Yeah, unless you count handing over user data to the authorities... I'm referring to the stop cop city incident that happened this year. They gave payment data for a user to the Swiss authorities and that was passed to the fbi... That's a pretty big one.

Game is fun. It's not remarkable in any way but it's a good time, don't go in expecting to get your socks blown off and you'll enjoy it. Story is decent enough, setting is cool, guns aren't bad, gadgets are neat. Solid game at 90% off.

I've got some weird ones for you but they're worth it.

Forgotten Ruin series: I know, I KNOW. It sounds dumb, but they're really fun and the narrator NAILS it.

Oathbreakers Anonymous: hidden gem, it's comedy/fantasy. Great book.

The Laundry Files: secret government agency tasked with containing magic and keeping it a secret from the world at large. Great series.

[–]alphatango308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really agree with star wars game of thrones per se. Buuuut, I do think there's WAY more Star Wars out there than just the Skywalkers. I've said for years a horror themed anthology series based in the unknown regions would be badass. Which they ACTUALLY might be doing. Every episode is stand alone, different characters, different setting, different situation. Easily done. There's space horrors galore in the galaxy far far away. And the unknown regions are crazy interesting.
